A strong safety culture is built on real stories and shared experiences. We recently hosted motivational safety speaker Eric Giguere, a survivor of a devastating workplace accident. On October 4, 2002, Eric's life changed in an instant when a trench collapsed, burying him alive. His lived experience, shared with our team, showed us how quickly a moment of haste or a missed safety step can lead to a life-altering tragedy. Now a safety advocate and speaker, Eric's journey from survivor to champion for safety deeply resonated with our team. He proves the need for strong safety barriers, following rules, and a culture where every person feels empowered to prioritize safety. We thank Eric for his courage and dedication to making workplaces safer for everyone. His story is a powerful reminder that safety is our core value - it's at the heart of everything we do. • Proud. Energized. Ready for what’s next. We're thrilled to be named Company of the Year at this year's Ontario Energy Awards gala—an honour that recognizes our entire team’s commitment to shaping Ontario’s energy future. From tackling greenhouse gas emissions to launching hands-on preparedness workshops, our people are setting new standards for innovation and collaboration. With 16 nominations across all award categories, this win truly reflects the passion and resilience driving our success. As Harry Taylor, interim president & CEO, shared: “Real progress takes leadership, partnership, and a vision for tomorrow. We’re just getting started.” Thank you to every team member, partner, and community we serve. Together, we’re powering possibilities for generations to come.

  • We recognize that Reconciliation is about actions, not just words. This month, building on our Indigenous Cultural Awareness Training opportunities, we hosted five learning sessions with The Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund (DWF) at our Toronto, Thunder Bay, and Markham offices. These sessions highlight and strengthen our ongoing partnership. We also hosted Indigenous speaker Eddy Robinson this month to amplify Indigenous voices and storytelling as part of our Reconciliation learning journey. "I'm not asking for you to solve things," he said. "I'm asking you to listen, and sometimes that's more important." In a small but meaningful way, our Corporate Affairs team participated in the Walk for Wenjack to honor Chanie Wenjack's story and reflect on the history and lasting impact of residential schools. #TruthAndReconciliation #DWF #NDTR #OrangeShirtDay

  • Supported by The Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund (DWF), our teams across Ontario participated in Indigenous Cultural Awareness training this month. We recognize that cultural safety is an ongoing practice and what we say matters. Ensuring our everyday language and actions are inclusive is a key step in creating an environment where everyone feels respected and valued. #WorkplaceCulturalSafety #TruthAndReconciliation #DWF

  • Ontario continues to grow rapidly, and electricity is at the foundation of this growth. This morning, interim President & CEO and Chief Financial & Regulatory Officer Harry Taylor opened the Ontario Energy Conference and had the honour of introducing Premier Doug Ford. Conferences like these allow us to reconnect with industry leaders and government officials, and together, we continue our work to build a resilient, self-reliant energy future for the people of Ontario.

  • September is Power to Give Month. Across the province, our employees are generously donating their time and resources to support the causes and communities they care about. After a successful backpack drive last year, Barrie based Customer Support Supervisor, Samantha along with Dan, Julia, Jordana, and team, are at it again. This year, they’re building hygiene kits for families in need with the Glowing Hearts Charity. "Knowing what you're doing at that moment is going to have a profound effect on the people who need it is precious,” shares Samantha. “Through fundraising, kit building, and volunteer hours, we aim to maximize our collective impact and give back as much as possible.” Know more: https://ow.ly/XLct50X32VF.

  • When northern Ontario communities faced wildfire evacuations this summer, our Emergency Management and Business Continuity Manager, Shannon, stepped up. She returned to the field as an incident commander stationed with The Loomex Group, helping coordinate safe evacuation of hundreds of families from Keewaywin First Nation. Working with provincial agencies and host communities, Shannon worked to ensure families were moved safely, united with loved ones, and treated with dignity during a difficult time. “This is what it’s about – meeting people where they’re at, especially on their worst days,” Shannon shared. “Every flight, every transfer, every plan was about keeping families together and safe.” Shannon's leadership and deep commitment to community are an inspiration. Her frontline experience is invaluable as we continue to enhance our own emergency preparedness training.
