Across Promat, our teams are making thoughtful changes that reduce plastic in packaging while keeping safety and quality at the highest level. In Japan, the journey started with a recycling partner in 2023. Today, cardboard scraps are transformed into protective cushioning, paper dividers have replaced plastic sheets, and plastic wrap use has already been cut in half. In Poland, changing the way we wrap and improving our machine process has saved more than 6 tonnes of plastic in just one year. Tests are now underway to explore how to reduce this further still. Even in plants using little plastic we see reductions. In Belgium, adapting the machinery enabled the reduction of almost 1 tonne of plastic film from January to August. These initiatives reflect our ClearChange agenda – Step 3: Delivery & Assembly.
