The rules have changed for remote jobseekers. - Fewer remote roles (RTO policies). - 10x more applications per job. - Recruiters drowning in AI-generated noise. 👉 The old way of applying doesn’t work anymore. For those who missed our newsletter last week, here are the key takeaways to stand out in 2025: 1. Preparation Your CV and LinkedIn must prove you’re market-ready. 👉 Reality check: Over 75% of profiles we reviewed at Jobgether (out of 2M+) were not, or poorly, optimized. 2. Matching & Applying Apply smart. Today, tools can tell you before applying whether you’re really a great fit. 👉 At Jobgether, 85% of talents who thought they were strong candidates discovered through their match assessment that they weren’t as good as they believed, or that their CV wasn’t clear enough. 3. Networking 75% of remote jobs are hidden (or not posted remotely). Networking is not sending “I think I’m a great fit” messages. It’s about proving value: sharing insights, showing interest in a company’s challenges, and building trust so you’re remembered when opportunities open. 💡 That’s how you cut through the noise and get noticed.

🌍 The biggest mismatch in remote work? Still Location… More than 50% of remote workers on Jobgether tweak their profiles by adding countries like the US, hoping to access more jobs. >> A huge number of applications are automatically rejected because of “wrong location.” 🔎 On Jobgether, we automatically show you jobs (so matches) open to your location. Whether the company is in New York, Berlin, or Madrid doesn’t matter, what matters is where they are hiring from. The reality of remote jobs today: 85% = Local Remote (1 country only) <15% = International Remote (several countries) Just 3% = Remote from Anywhere This misunderstanding causes frustration: candidates apply to roles they’re not eligible for and never hear back. That’s why Jobgether works differently: you’ll only see jobs that truly match your location, skills, and experience. No wasted time. No false hopes. Remote work isn’t “from anywhere,” but we’re making it easier to find the opportunities that really fit you. Select your location here and discover all the remote jobs available from your country: 👉 https://lnkd.in/ec76uA8t

The silent suicide on LinkedIn for remote job seekers. Many damage their chances without realizing it. LinkedIn is not just a social platform > it is your professional identity. Remote employers review it carefully before deciding to interview you. Here are the most common mistakes we see: 📌 Treating LinkedIn like X or Instagram Every like, comment, or reaction leaves a trace. Employers will read between the lines. 🗯️ Inappropriate comments Unprofessional reactions under posts are an immediate red flag for recruiters. 🖼️ Unpolished profile The wrong photo, a vague bio, missing details, these weaken your credibility. Recruiters often spend more time on LinkedIn than on your résumé. 💤 Silence An abandoned or empty profile signals disengagement. Passivity can be just as damaging as the wrong words. ➡️ LinkedIn is your professional passport. For remote talent, an optimized profile is not optional: it’s essential. Every word counts. Every detail matters.

You hit “apply” for a remote job you’re a perfect fit for… and then nothing. It’s probably not because your profile isn’t strong enough. It’s because there’s a good chance a human never even saw it. → Did you know that 9 out of 10 remote applicants are never seen by a human recruiter? Here’s what’s really happening behind the scenes: 1. The ATS screening Your resume lands in an Applicant Tracking System (ATS). It scans for keywords, job titles, and must-have skills. Some even assign a match score: 5 key criteria set - you meet 3 → 60% score But if many applicants score 100%, your resume is unlikely to move forward Modern ATS are smarter now, analyzing context and career progression. But they still miss nuance. You might have valuable experience the ATS doesn’t pick up, leading to an automated rejection. 2. The hidden filters Even if you pass the ATS, human recruiters often apply additional filters: location, skills, industry, seniority. For example, a role advertised as “remote from anywhere” might actually be restricted. When thousands apply, recruiters often narrow the pool by specific countries or even cities. How to stand-out ? ☑️ Tailor your resume with relevant keywords for your field (make it ATS-friendly 👉 https://lnkd.in/eTnyQMag). ☑️ Test your match score before applying (Jobgether shows how an ATS reads your CV 👉 Use our feature : "Why this match?"). ☑️ Research company hiring patterns. “Remote” often has hidden limits. Double-check on LinkedIn where current employees are located. ☑️ Reach out to the hiring manager with something valuable (not just “please hire me”). The system is tough. But with the right strategy, you can get noticed.

Stop mass applying. Recruitment is broken, but (you) candidates can help fix it. Last month, 38% of applicants we invited for an interview never showed up. Some skipped the pre-screening call. Others didn’t even reply. This is the worst stat we’ve ever seen, and it’s growing every month. At the same time, companies receive hundreds or even thousands of applications per job. Many are AI-generated or sent by bots, adding noise instead of opportunities. Great candidates exist, but they get lost in the crowd. 👉 Mass applying doesn’t help you stand out: it hurts your chances, and others’. Here’s what works instead: ✅ Focus on jobs that truly fit your skills & ambitions. (We’ve even built a tool to help you see how an ATS evaluates your profile - you can test it for free on Jobgether.) ✅ Engage with the hiring manager, but don’t just ask for a job, demonstrate the value you can bring. ✅ Respect the process: if you can’t attend an interview, let the recruiter know. The future of hiring isn’t about sending 50+ CVs a day with your AI co-pilot or CV builder. It’s about #deepmatching, finding the few roles where you’re a real fit, and focusing only on those. Because in the end, everything is about quality, not volume. ✅ Apply, yes. But don’t stop there. ✅ One thoughtful application, where you’ve taken time to understand the company, connect with the right people, and show the value you bring, is worth far more than 100 robotic clicks. That’s how you stand out. That’s how you get hired.

Recruitment is broken Candidates apply to 50+ jobs for one interview. Recruiters drown in hundreds of low-intent CVs. The “easy apply” button made things worse, it killed intent. The future isn’t about applying more. It’s about deep matching: ✅ Jobs that fit your skills & ambitions ✅ Candidates who are a true match ✅ No more scrolling. No more black holes. 👉 In our latest newsletter, we share why the job application will be obsolete by 2030, and what comes next.
