Advancing open science in Europe

About us

The EOSC Association is the legal entity established to govern the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC). It was formed on 29th July 2020 with four founding members and has since grown to over 200 Members and Observers. The Association membership is jointly responsible for delivering the objectives agreed in the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the European Union and EOSC Association to form the official Partnership. The EOSC ecosystem is being co-created in a series of funded projects and initiatives from Member States and Associated Countries. The EOSC Association plays an important role in helping to coordinate and steer these investments via its Task Forces and other governance structures.

  • The partners of EOSC United met in Brno, Czech Republic on 23–24 September 2025 to officially kick off their activities and coordinate efforts with colleagues from EOSC Gravity. The two projects share a common mission of supporting all stakeholders who are building #EOSC to create a sustainable and functional environment. While EOSC United focuses on anchoring and uniting the research community within the EOSC Federation, EOSC Gravity supports the EOSC Partnership’s transition to its new governance and funding framework after 2027. The discussions in Brno were marked by a strong drive to advance the long-term goals of the EOSC Federation and to foster a common understanding around the EOSC EU Node. The meeting was co-organised by Masaryk University, an active EOSC-A Member and member of the EOSC United consortium. • Webinar on Digital Services Act (DSA) 18 September 2025 at 16:00 CEST Last day to #register for this informative webinar hosted by EOSC-A is Wednesday, 17 September 2025 (midnight)! Register here: https://lnkd.in/dh8Y9KGU A representative from the Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG CNECT) will present the #DSA and discuss its practical implications for #research and #innovation. The webinar will be moderated by EOSC-A President Klaus Tochtermann. On 27 June, the Board of Digital Services Coordinators endorsed a plan for closer cooperation to ensure uniform implementation of researcher vetting and data access procedures under the DSA. The European Parliament and the Council have three months to review the delegated act following its adoption in early July. Once it enters into force and is published in the Official Journal, the first researchers will be able to apply for access to platform data. Join us to explore how these developments will expand research opportunities and prepare for the moment the delegated act takes effect! Register for the webinar and review useful links on DSA here: https://lnkd.in/dh8Y9KGU
