The USO Care Package Program provides service members with care packages filled with essential toiletry items and snack foods, just when you need it most.

When called to deploy, you may leave at a moment’s notice and not have time to pack basic toiletries. Once you’re in the field, you may have limited access to these essential items. Familiar snacks and drinks from home can be difficult to come by as well.

That’s where USO Care Packages come in. USO Care Packages are delivered to service members and include items specifically selected to support you in challenging times, such as deployment, disaster response and during transit. These packages are not just full of hard-to-find goodies – they are a reminder of home when you are far away from it, and a morale boost when you need it. Wherever you go, the USO is by your side.

How It Works

  • USO Care Packages are distributed to service members who are in the process of deploying, are currently deployed or are stationed overseas.
  • The USO team often distributes USO Care Packages anywhere from on the flight line as you’re boarding your plane for deployment, to when you’re already deployed on a base overseas, to those currently on ships out at sea, to undisclosed locations and more.
  • If you are deploying soon or have already deployed, ask your leadership about requesting USO Care Packages, or you can serve as our point of contact by filling out the request form. Be sure to provide a military shipping address to request up to 1,000 USO Care Packages, depending on the size of your unit and the need. You can always request replenishments. There is no rank requirement.

What Service Members Receive

  • USO Care Packages (Toiletry): Items such as toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, soap, razors and more.
  • USO Care Packages (Female Toiletry): Items such as toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, razors, sanitary pads, tampons, hair ties and more.
  • USO Care Packages (Snacks): Items such as energy-boosting snacks, drink mixes and other snacks that may be difficult to access while overseas.
  • USO Care Packages (Holidays): Items such as socks, beanies, hand warmers, candy, instant coffee and a holiday card with a note of support from the USO.
  • A bag that you can re-use: all standard, toiletry and snack USO Care Packages are in canvas bags with a MOLLE system on the back of the pouch so that you can easily attach the care package to most military-issued gear and take it with you.
  • American snacks and toiletry items that might be difficult to access while stationed or deployed far from home.
  • A reminder of home, just when you need it most.
