Summary
Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced Sr. Electrical, Electronic & Electromechanical (EEE) Components/Parts, Materials & Processes (PM&P) Engineer to join our growing team. Reporting to the Mission Assurance Director, the Sr. EEE/PM&P Engineer provides assurance to deliver affordable, high-performance satellite systems that provide product lifecycle reliability and safety and meet internal specifications and customer contract requirements.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with the Engineering EEE Parts Manager to advise design engineers on parts selection based on part reliability, availability, and manufacturing processes
Evaluate EEE and PM&P contract requirements to identify and resolve gaps
Evaluate performance, reliability, safety, and value considerations of EEE parts in product design to comply with company standards and customer requirements
Serve as the prime interface with customers on parts, materials, and process requirements
Support reliability risk mitigation by bringing together supply chain, design engineers, and production/manufacturing and driving to closure
Use reliability analysis, failure models and reliability metrics to assess PM&P-related risks. Use software tools (e.g. Sherlock) to simulate PCBA stresses that impact flight reliability and provide corrective design solutions
Advise engineering on parts selection based on reliability, availability, and manufacturing processes
Assess part reliability risks and provide feedback to guide selection
Evaluate electrical, thermal, and mechanical characteristics of integrated circuits, components, sub-components, and PCBAs to determine root cause of failure. Coordinate, drive, and perform EEE parts/PM&P root cause failure analysis
Generate failure reports and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence of problems
Develop and track metrics on failure analyses to resolve systematic issues and root causes
Support failure review boards, engineering reviews
Compile and deliver parts, materials, and processes lists to meet contract requirements
Provide input to program managers and proposal teams to evaluate and ensure implementation of EEE/PM&P requirements
Lead initiatives to develop/improve PM&P processes and practices
Ensure EEE/PM&P requirements flow down to suppliers and subcontractors
Manage the PM&P program including oversight of subcontractor PM&P practices
Manage the PM&P Control Plan and associated EEE/PM&P procedures.
Manage Counterfeit Parts Prevention Program, including Non-Standard Parts/Materials Approval Requests (NSPAR/NSMAR) (internal and from subcontractors)
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications And Skills
BS degree in Electrical Engineering
5+ years relevant electrical engineering experience, preferably in aerospace
EEE parts engineering, including reliability, utilization, obsolescence, and parts library
Application of EEE/PM&P military and industry standards, e.g. MIL, NASA, ISO, ECSS, IPC
Analysis of designs, materials, processes, systems, and manufacturing practices for reliability
Part, material, and process analyses to troubleshoot failures and recommend solutions
Experience leading multi-functional failure analysis/investigation and root cause analysis (RCCA)
Counterfeit parts and materials management including inspection techniques and test methods
Review EEE/PM&P-related contract requirements against internal practices/procedures and clearly communicate implementation practices
Excellent written and verbal communication - able to clearly speak, listen and write in both technical and non-technical terms
Thrive in a dynamic team environment adapting to changing priorities, ambiguity, and uncertainty
U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance
Additional Differentiators
Master's degree in engineering, physical sciences, or business administration
Familiarity with MS Office, JIRA, Manufacturo, Aegis, D365, and common PLM & MES tools
Ansys Sherlock parts reliability analysis tool

Your actual level and base salary will be determined case-by-case and may vary based on the job-related qualification, knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
