Who we are looking for:
We’re looking for a strategic and analytical Retail Strategy & Insights Manager to support forecasting, planning, and performance analysis across our Walmart business. This role is focused on driving sales, maximizing profitability, and optimizing inventory through meaningful insights, modular support, and close cross-functional collaboration. A strong understanding of retail trends, apparel cycles, and omni-channel execution is key to success.
Key Responsibilities:
Insights & Reporting
Leverage Walmart's Scintilla platform and syndicated data to deliver actionable insights on sales, margin, inventory, shopper behavior, and competitive positioning
Prepare and present weekly, monthly, and seasonal business reviews that highlight risks, opportunities, and strategic recommendations
Track item-level and category performance to inform assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies
Identify assortment gaps, analyze demographic and customer data, and assess modular effectiveness to improve the shopper experience
Evaluate supplier capabilities and support strategies to inform final assortment recommendations by cluster or footage
Planning & Forecasting
Develop and manage seasonal and annual merchandise plans, including sales, margin, and inventory goals
Analyze historical trends and current market conditions to drive demand forecasting and buying strategies
Collaborate with merchandising teams to build assortments that align with brand and financial objectives
Inventory Management
Monitor inventory levels and product flow to maintain optimal availability and reduce out-of-stocks or excess inventory
Partner with supply chain teams to align on delivery timing, replenishment, and inventory turn improvements
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with internal sales, marketing, product development, operations, and customer teams to ensure alignment on timelines, forecasts, and financial targets
Provide clear insights, KPIs, and planning recommendations to support modular execution and line reviews
Contribute to marketing and promotional planning by delivering shopper insights and performance trends
Tools & Technology
Utilize tools such as Excel, SAP, Luminate, and Scintilla to streamline planning processes and support data-driven decision-making
Stay current on emerging technologies, consumer trends, and best practices in retail planning
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Finance, or a related field
2–4+ years of experience in planning, forecasting, or allocation—preferably in apparel or general merchandising
Proficiency in Excel; experience with planning tools such as SAP, Luminate, and Retail Link
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable strategies
Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
