Our client is a leading private equity firm with more than $1B in assets under management and a strong record of successful investing. The firm is seeking a Private Equity Associate to join its Portland-based team with a dedicated focus on software. The Associate will be directly involved in sourcing, evaluating, and executing new investments while also supporting portfolio companies in their growth strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Research software markets and subsectors to identify and develop new investment themes
Build and maintain financial models to evaluate potential opportunities and support decision-making
Lead and support workstreams across the deal lifecycle, including diligence, structuring, and execution
Prepare investment committee materials and present analysis to senior leadership
Partner with portfolio company management to drive value creation initiatives and track performance
Contribute to strategic planning and exit readiness processes
Qualifications
2–4 years of experience in software-focused investment banking or private equity/investing (required)
Advanced financial modeling and quantitative analysis skills
Demonstrated success in transaction execution and due diligence
Strong interest in the software sector, with an understanding of its growth drivers and dynamics
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to operate in a lean, entrepreneurial environment
Bachelor’s degree required
