Long-term 12-month+ contract (W2)

$50.00 – $60.00/hour (D.O.E.)

A leading utility provider in Michigan is seeking a Project Engineer to join the team taking on a multi-year plant modernization project to strategize, organize, and coordinate resources, timelines, and critical modernization work with engineering teams in a power plant. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Create project feasibility documentation, including scope documentation and plant performance.
• Monitoring activities at plant sites to ensure work progresses as scheduled, within budget, as well adherence to project technical and commercial requirements.
• Coordinating activities of contractors, consultants, and vendors in support of assigned projects or in support of a project manager.
• Acting as lead with responsibility for compliance with scope, technical, budget, and schedule requirements for specific tasks.

Minimum requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or similar engineering field.
• 3+ years of experience defining project scope, coordinating plant engineering teams, and finalizing project charters for electrical plant projects.
• Experience in project management, formal or informal, where you oversaw engineering, timelines, in-house resources, and defined processes and metrics for success.
• Previous experience in utilities, construction, power plants, steel mills, refineries, or similar industrial environments is preferred.
