Who You Are
You are an entry-level engineer with a strong foundation in embedded software development and an eagerness to work in a customer-facing role. You value the power of AI and view it as a work companion. You are experienced operating in embedded linux system environments and using C, C++, or QML. You're just as comfortable talking to customers on the phone as you are writing code for embedded systems. If you enjoy using AI, communicating with customers, and writing code to automate/improve internal production processes — this role is for you.
What You Will Do
- Build, configure, and deploy smart truck systems using our proprietary Truck Designer software platform.
- Collaborate with customers to clarify requirements and translate their specs into real systems operating on roads.
- Write clean, high-performance code for embedded Linux and real-time applications.
- Use AI to accelerate development, improve code quality, and automate internal processes.
- Make continuous software improvements to support new features and automate manual configurations.
- Improve software tools that power our production floor and field operations.
- Document all code, software changes, system configurations, and development processes.
- Provide technical support to production, sales, and customer support teams.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration between engineering and manufacturing.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in embedded software development (internships count!)
- Desire to use AI on a daily basis (no need to be an expert — we’ll train you to use it everywhere).
- Strong C, C++, or QML programming language foundation.
- Experience working in Embedded Linux systems.
- Experience with version control systems like Git or SVN.
- Microcontrollers, Qt, CAN, firmware, Agile.
- Completed side projects that highlight your use of AI.
