The Long Bay Symphony (LBS), based in Myrtle Beach, SC, is a leading cultural organization dedicated to presenting exceptional symphonic music, fostering music education, and enriching the community through the arts.
Position Summary
The Office Manager/Bookkeeper is a key part-time staff member responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the office, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting ticket sales, and managing organizational communications. This position requires a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive individual who can balance multiple responsibilities in a dynamic arts environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Oversight & Bookkeeping
Process and record daily deposits.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Reconcile monthly bank statements.
Prepare regular financial reports for leadership and the Board.
Ensure accurate recordkeeping and compliance with accounting best practices.
Communications & Office Management
Draft and distribute written communications, including email correspondence, mailings, and press releases.
Maintain accurate organizational records and files.
Provide general office management and administrative support to staff and leadership.
Ticket Sales & Customer Service
Manage ticket sales through CueBox, including setup, monitoring, and reporting.
Assist patrons with ticketing needs and inquiries.
Provide a positive and professional experience for concertgoers and donors.
Volunteer Management
· Recruit, schedule, and supervise in-office volunteers to support administrative tasks.
· Coordinate and manage concert volunteers, including ushers, ticket scanners, and concessions staff.
· Provide training, guidance, and support to ensure volunteers have a positive and productive experience.
· Maintain clear communication and recognition efforts to foster volunteer engagement and retention.
Qualifications
Previous bookkeeping and office management experience required.
Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong organizational skills with attention to accuracy and detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with minimal supervision.
Experience in nonprofit or arts organizations a plus.
Schedule & Compensation
Part-time, 20–25 hours per week.
Schedule is flexible within standard office hours (M-F 9am-4pm), with occasional evening/weekend work for concerts and events.
Hourly compensation is $15-25 per hour commensurate with experience.
