Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.
As Electrical Design Engineer in the Systems Integration Group (SIG) at Micron Technology, you will contribute to the design and implementation of advanced test equipment supporting semiconductor manufacturing. You will leverage your foundational knowledge of electrical circuit theory, electromagnetism, and PCB design to assist in developing PCB assemblies and test system functions. Your role will emphasize PCB electromagnetic simulation techniques, post-layout analysis, and hands-on characterization and verification to ensure the integrity and performance of high-speed PCB designs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including other engineering disciplines, technicians, procurement, planning, and external partners, to support the successful implementation of innovative test solutions.
Responsibilities
- Participate in high-speed PCB design and verification, including electromagnetic simulation, post-layout analysis, and frequency domain tools (Keysight, HyperLynx).
- Perform and proceduralize S-parameter and time-domain lab measurements (TDR, eye diagrams) as part of a team.
- Work with design teams using schematic capture and layout tools (e.g., Siemens Xpedition) to assist in analog and digital circuit design, component selection, and PCB layout, focusing on signal and power integrity.
- Support debugging and verification of PCB assemblies using lab equipment (DMM, oscilloscope, power supply).
- Contribute to design documents, test plans, lab reports, and requirements specifications.
- Apply basic programming or scripting (Python preferred) for design automation and data analysis.
- Document, control, and manage engineering changes for PCB designs, assist with prototype qualification, deployment, and issue resolution under senior engineer guidance.
- BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Familiarity with lab equipment such as DMM, oscilloscope, power supply, and electronic load instruments.
- Experience or familiarity with PCB schematic capture and layout tools (e.g., Siemens Xpedition, Cadence OrCAD, KiCad).
- Exposure to VNAs and/or TDRs.
- Familiarity with 3D Field Solvers is a plus.
- An intermediate understanding of signal integrity and power integrity concepts.
- Introductory experience with scripting languages (Python preferred).
- A motivation to learn advanced high-speed simulation and measurement techniques
