Dutton Law Group is seeking an Insurance Defense Legal Assistant. We have locations in Tampa, Orlando, Miami, Jacksonville, Fort Lauderdale and Pensacola. Applicants should have 2+ years of experience, be a self-starter, have excellent communication skills, and be well organized to join our fast-growing team. Insurance defense experience recommended.
Duties
Organizes cases by establishing and organizing files; establishing calendars; expediting requirements and deadlines; documenting actions.
Scheduling depositions; preparing and forwarding summonses and subpoenas; preparing and filing discovery requests; preparing responses to opposing counsel's scheduling requests; coordinating hearing and depositions and processing of pleadings and correspondence and use of the e-filing portal.
Preparation of exhibits and correspondence; scheduling mediation conferences and hearings; drafting pleadings; monitoring and obtaining discovery responses from opposing counsel; initiating and maintaining contact with adjusters and opposing counsel.
Helps clients by initiating and maintaining contact; preparing clients to answer discovery and keeping clients informed of case status
Ability to file pleadings, etc., in the Florida State Court filing system
Accomplishes law firm mission by completing other duties as needed.
Skills/Qualifications
Proficient in Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and case management software
Working knowledge of legal administration
Working knowledge of Case Management software (CLIO) a plus

Strong computer proficiency
Detail oriented
Must be dependable
Able to keep cases and client matters confidential
