Process Engineering Lead – Liquid & Dry Systems
Rochester, NY – Onsite
Here’s a solid opportunity for someone who enjoys improving how things run and also wants to put their leadership experience to good use. This role oversees two direct reports and plays a key part in refining liquid and dry process systems across the plant. It’s hands-on, technical work with enough variety to keep things interesting and enough responsibility to actually influence how the operation performs.
What the role focuses on:
• Guiding a small team (two direct reports) while supporting day-to-day process improvement
efforts.
• Designing and improving chemical and mechanical process systems used for liquids, batching,
mixing, and related operations.
• Identifying and driving optimization opportunities that support better throughput, efficiency,
and on-time delivery.
• Selecting and commissioning new equipment and supporting utility system upgrades.
• Owning P&IDs, CAD updates, and all technical documentation tied to process systems.
• Troubleshooting instrumentation, automation, and piping issues when they arise.
• Leading capital projects from early concept through installation and startup.
• Supporting validation and qualification activities as needed.
What you’ll need to be successful:
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry required; Chemical Engineering or similar is a plus.
• Solid experience in manufacturing or process engineering, ideally involving liquid or chemical
systems.
• Background leading others, whether direct reports or project-based team leadership.
• Strong understanding of process instrumentation, piping, and utilities.
• Experience with CAD, P&IDs, and technical documentation.
• Comfort working in a regulated or quality-focused environment (pharma, medical device, food,
or similar).
• Familiarity with sanitary design, Lean/Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methods.
