Who You Are:

Michael Kors is looking for a skilled social media and post-production editor: someone who can bring a unique creative sensibility to our growing social advertising campaigns. Across TikTok, Instagram, and emerging platforms, we are creating comprehensive full-funnel campaigns that seamlessly integrate with our larger brand initiatives and seasonal collections.

As a luxury fashion brand with a global presence, Michael Kors produces high-volume, fast-paced content that demands both creative excellence and operational efficiency. Our social campaigns span everything from product launches and seasonal storytelling to influencer collaborations and user-generated content activations. The ideal candidate will thrive in this dynamic environment, bringing fresh perspectives to our brand voice while maintaining the sophisticated aesthetic that defines our brand.

This role reports to our Post Production Manager while maintaining cross-functional responsibilities, collaborating on content produced by our Social Media and Art Departments. You’ll be fully integrated into the larger post-production team, so your day-to-day may also include team coverage, project management and ad-hoc responsibilities.

You will help bring entire social campaigns to life through editing, requiring both an understanding of what makes social content compelling and the ability to execute and elevate the creative concepts you're given.

What You’ll Do:

  • Edit compelling social media videos in various formats and lengths for Instagram, TikTok, and other platforms while maintaining brand standards and following social media best practices
  • Stay current with viral digital video trends and social media editing styles, applying creative timing to craft cohesive, engaging content
  • Contribute to internal initiatives and experimental concepts including sizzle reels, proof-of-concepts, and other creative explorations; and, be able to support general post-production traffic during peak times, such as, but not limited to, when Managers or Coordinators are out of office, during Fashion Week events, or when National Advertising campaigns are in delivery
  • Execute high-quality finishing work including color correction, sound mixing, motion graphics, and stylized content delivery using Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects and Premiere Pro)
  • Demonstrate proficiency in professional workflows for graphics, VFX, audio mixing, color correction, and final asset delivery while adhering to established post-production protocols including project archiving, file naming conventions, music reporting, and other team workflow standards, all while problem-solving technical challenges under pressure
  • Work closely with our Social and Art teams, as well as with external vendors (such as graphics editors, sound mixers, and colorists) to achieve creative and technical objectives on schedule
  • Independently manage multiple motion-based projects simultaneously, handling revisions, resizing deliverables, and meeting tight deadlines while maintaining quality standards

You’ll Need to Have:

  • 3+ years of experience in social media video creation and editing
  • Strong understanding of mainstream and emerging social platforms with insight into authentic brand engagement strategies
  • Ability to work in NYC office 4 days a week
  • Must provide portfolio showcasing previous social video work for TikTok, Instagram, and other relevant platforms

We’d Love to See:

  • Demonstrated eagerness to push creative boundaries and pursue continuous professional development
  • Exceptional attention to detail with proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Entrepreneurial, out of the box thinker
