Position Overview:
Laxxon Medical is seeking an experienced Head of Business Development. This individual will play a key role in identifying strategic partnerships, driving revenue growth, and expanding Laxxon's market presence in the United States and will play a pivotal role in its international development and progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute business growth strategies to expand Laxxon's presence in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry.
- Identify, evaluate, prioritize, and advance potential partnerships and opportunities that will enable Laxxon to be a leader in pharmaceuticals and optimize the value of Laxxon's portfolio.
- For specific business development opportunities, drive the BD process, coordinate due diligence including scientific evaluations, financial assessments, and risk analysis, facilitate internal and external communication, structure/negotiate/finalize agreements, and manage existing alliances.
- Identify and engage with priority regional and global partners in accordance with business development strategy and establish and maintain a broad network of external relationships.
- Lead negotiations for strategic alliances, licensing agreements, and joint ventures.
- Conduct thorough market analysis to understand emerging trends, competitive landscape, and strategic opportunities for collaboration and business growth.
- Collaborate with internal teams (R&D, regulatory, marketing) to align business development efforts with company objectives.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, scientific meetings, and partnership discussions to promote Laxxon and foster collaboration opportunities.
- Cultivate a strong and effective partnership with key stakeholders, including executives, scientific teams, cross-functional teams, and potential collaborators, to create mutually beneficial partnerships.
- Identify and pursue external opportunities by seeking out and evaluating potential external business opportunities for out licensing, co-development, and structured transitions.
- Proactively pursue and cultivate strategic industry partnerships while maintaining a strong network of contacts within the industry, to ensure Laxxon's continued growth and success. Ensure full-time availability during working hours, which are Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM EST.
- Facilitate and coordinate support for our international counterparts, which may require work outside the abovementioned hours and/or travel.
- Establish eligibility for international travel by meeting all local and international TSA guidelines to support our global counterparts.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications &Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in Sell-side business development or corporate development experience in the biotech, pharmaceutical, and management consulting experience.
- A robust network of contacts within the pharmaceuticals and biotech industries.
- Proven track record of successfully negotiating and executing licensing agreements.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in in in-licensing and out-licensing within pharmaceuticals, biotech, and/or MedTech industries.
- Strong understanding of drug delivery technologies and drug development processes, including early stage research through clinical development and commercialization.
- Demonstrated success in constructing, negotiating, and closing complex deals, running due diligence, financial analysis & modeling, including licensing, co-development, and collaboration agreements.
- Ability to work independently and drive strategic initiatives from concept to execution.
- Ability to think strategically and analytically, with a track record of identifying, evaluating, and capitalizing on partnership opportunities.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and work across cross functional teams.
- Excellent interpersonal, networking, and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior executives, scientists, and external stakeholders.
- MBA or relevant advanced degree in Business, Life Sciences, or Healthcare preferred.
