Energy Trading Senior Sales Engineer / PreSales Consultant (Houston based ideally but can be based from anywhere in the US) - $150-200k + uncapped commission + bonus
Rapidly growing Saas / Cloud based software business specialized in providing out of the box data management and business intelligence risk and compliance solutions to energy/commodity trading businesses, working alongside existing Energy Trading & Risk Management (ETRM) systems, seeks a Senior Sales Engineer / Senior PreSales Consultant to join their US business, based either out of their Houston office, or based remotely from anywhere in the US.
My client is a cutting edge, modern energy trading software business who provides a unique offering that supplements existing ETRM / CTRM and other risk management software. Based out of the US, but already with clients in Europe and Asia, the business is growing by over 60% in revenue year-on-year and thus have a brand new Senior Sales Engineer / Senior PreSales Consultant to work with their new business sales manager in preparing and presenting demos to US and Canadian prospective clients. This is NOT a new business sales role, but will be the subject matter expert (SME) working with the Sales Manager in selling the software to prospective clients.
Salary: $150-200k basic + uncapped commission + 10% additional bonus
Key skills sought:
- Proven track record working for another energy trading or similar software house, whether directly in data management, business intelligence, trade surveillance or ETRM / CTRM software in a business orientated role implementing and providing demos of their software
- It is essential that you have a strong understanding of the energy trading market from working in a business analysis/software implementation role(s), so you’ll definitely have a good understanding of the difference between energy trading credit and market risk, the different between swaps and options etc
- It is essential that you have some experience working in a presales or sales orientated role, so involved in preparing and presenting demos to energy trading clients
- This is not a developer role, but does need someone with some software configuration skills, so a good knowledge of SQL, Tableau, Power BI and Excel would be ideal
- US passport holder, or hold a Green card or other visa allowing you to live and work in the US, as my client can’t / won’t sponsor visas
