Job Description

  • The Electrical Engineering position is part of the team developing medical infusion pump devices.
  • The candidate will be responsible for supporting, designing, and developing a broad array of electronic circuits used in product development.
  • The candidate should have a general knowledge of the product development process and will participate in design reviews and contribute advice on feasibility and associated risks.
  • The candidate will contribute cross-functional knowledge and experiences to facilitate the understanding and resolution of product development issues, concerns, and risks.
  • The candidate will be responsible for coordination of product development and serve as a key resource to examine system behavior issues and bring to resolution for existing products.
  • The candidate will also write test protocols and reports to provide verification evidence that the designs meet the product requirements, and that the design meets applicable requirements in the IEC general standards for medical electrical equipment as it applies to EMI, basic safety and essential performance.
  • The candidate will be expected to work independently with minimal guidance and acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
  • The candidate should be able to work on the bench, have soldering skills, and have knowledge in the use of electronic test equipment and apply this knowledge for the purpose of debugging electronic circuitry.

What Is Expected Of You For Success

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • A minimum of 5+ years related work experience required.
  • A broad-based foundation in electrical engineering
  • Implement designs that meet agency requirements (UL, IEC, FDA)
  • Write test protocols and reports to provide design requirement verification evidence.
  • Design for EMC compliance, safety, and manufacturability
  • Design electronic circuits utilizing microcontrollers, analog and digital devices, motor controllers, switching power supplies, battery charging circuits, keypads, displays, USB, serial and WiFi modules, etc.
  • Experience in developing product designs using OrCad schematic capture and PCB layout tools
  • Develop embedded firmware in C using various embedded development tools and compilers

  • Knowledge in IEC 60101-1 standards
  • Experience in project execution and administration
  • Effective analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective interpersonal and collaborative skill
  • Ability in writing test protocols, and test reports
  • Knowledge in the use of Allegro PCB layout software
