Base pay range
$100,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr
The Director of Sales reports directly to the FoodStory Brands SVP of Sales. This person will call on traditional Grocers, Brokers, and Distributors to sell-in food and beverage products. The primary focus is to achieve year-over-year sales growth by unleashing individual entrepreneurial spirit, while collaborating in a team environment and providing thought leadership. The Director of Sales will have relationships throughout the Grocer, Broker, and Distributor enterprise and leverage relationships to execute on existing and new opportunities. These products will be a mixture of FoodStory owned brands and licensed brands. The right candidate should live West of the Rockies and within 30 miles of a major airport.
Responsibilities
Manage and develop grocery sales directly with customers or through specialty distributors like KeHE/UNFI/DPI
Create and manage promotional schedules and trade spends
Delivering new item presentations
Building a business from the ground up
Deduction management
Distributor and Broker contract input and collaboration
Trade show management and representation experience
Managing brokers and distributors
Future potential to manage a team
Requirements
Solutions-oriented thinker
Strong connections and track record with traditional Grocers, Brokers, and Distributors, particularly in Frozen Appetizers and Deli Categories
Experience working with a variety of Grocery Stores in the geography
Minimum of 8-years selling in the food side of the CPG industry
College degree preferred; business concentration preferred
Understand pricing, promotion, and margins as they pertain to retail and club segments
Strong ability to multitask
Superior attention to detail
Entrepreneurial thinking and understands how to use data to sell
Outstanding organizational, presentation, and follow-up skills
Excellent verbal and written communication
Ability to work well independently and cross-functional within internal FSB team
Travel 50-75% of the time
