DIRECTOR OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT

The Director of Project Management will lead the project management team at Pink Sparrow, ensuring seamless project planning, scheduling, and execution. This role emphasizes onboarding and training new team members, mentoring staff for growth, and implementing systems that support project delivery with the highest levels of quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction. The Director will also be critical in fostering collaboration across departments and locations, aligning project management practices with the Brooklyn shop and other company leaders. This role will work out of the Compton, CA, location.

Key Objectives:

• Build and develop a high-performing project management team through effective onboarding and mentorship.
• Refine planning and scheduling processes to optimize project delivery.
• Drive collaboration across departments and locations to ensure consistency and alignment.
• Recruit and retain top talent, ensuring the department scales with company growth.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to client expectations.
  
  
  

Responsibilities

Team Development & Training:

• Create and implement an onboarding program for new project managers to ensure rapid acclimation and effectiveness.
• Develop ongoing training initiatives to enhance team skills in project management, client communication, and industry-specific expertise.
• Provide regular mentorship and feedback to project managers, fostering growth and professional development.
  
  
  

Planning & Scheduling:

• Oversee project schedules, ensuring resources are effectively allocated across multiple projects.
• Develop systems to forecast and plan for upcoming workload demands and capacity needs.
• Implement tools and processes to manage timelines, track progress, and adapt to changes efficiently.
  
  
  

Collaboration Across Locations & Departments:

• Work closely with counterparts at the Brooklyn shop to align processes, share best practices, and ensure consistent project delivery standards across locations.
• Partner with department leaders in Design, Fabrication, and Client Services to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
• Actively participate in leadership meetings to align department objectives with company goals.
• Establish strong working relationships with other operational leaders to facilitate resource sharing and workload balancing.
  
  
  

Operational Excellence:

• Establish and enforce project management best practices tailored to Pink Sparrow’s unique mix of creative and fabrication projects.
• Monitor project performance metrics, such as on-time delivery and budget adherence, to identify areas for improvement.
• Partner with other departments (Design, Fabrication, Client Services) to ensure seamless coordination and communication.
  
  
  

Recruitment & Retention:

• Work with People Operations to identify and attract top project management talent.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that supports retention and engagement.
• Build a talent pipeline to support the department’s growth needs.
  
  
  

Client-Focused Delivery:

• Act as an escalation point for complex project challenges, providing solutions that balance client satisfaction and operational efficiency.
• Ensure all project deliverables meet or exceed client expectations.
• Collaborate with the Client Services team to gather and incorporate client feedback for continuous improvement.
  
  
  

Continuous Improvement:

• Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and practices to keep Pink Sparrow’s project management approach competitive and innovative.
• Lead initiatives to streamline workflows and eliminate inefficiencies in project delivery.
• Document and standardize processes to ensure scalability and consistency across teams.
  
  
  

Requirements

Experience:

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex, multi-faceted projects in creative or fabrication industries.

• Proficient in project management tools (e.g., ClickUp, Monday.com, Smartsheet) and scheduling software.

Education:

Salary Description

$125,000 - $135,000 annually
