SUMMARY
Provides overall leadership and direction for all manufacturing operations. Responsible for planning, organizing, and executing strategies that ensure high-quality production, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery. Builds a collaborative, high-performance culture that fosters employee engagement, accountability, and safety excellence, driving continuous improvement in quality, delivery, cost, and service to strengthen Pelican’s competitive position in the plastics manufacturing industry.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Directs and integrates all manufacturing activities to meet forecasted shipment levels, delivery schedules, and budget targets.
Develops and executes both short- and long-range objectives, policies, and plans aligned with company strategy.
Ensures compliance with quality standards to meet product requirements and uphold Pelican’s brand promise.
Leads lean transformation efforts and embeds lean principles throughout operations to drive efficiency and waste reduction.
Establishes, monitors, and reports performance metrics (safety, quality, delivery, and cost), adjusting tactics as needed to achieve results.
Manages operating and capital budgets, including product costing and capacity planning for new or large orders.
Champions a culture of safety, implementing ergonomics programs, risk assessments, and continuous improvements in methods, equipment, and tooling.
Develops and presents reports and proposals, implementing approved changes and measuring outcomes.
Builds and sustains high-performing teams through rigorous hiring, training, development, and performance management practices.
Performs additional duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field
10+ years of leadership experience in a make-to-stock, medium-volume/high-mix manufacturing environment. Plastic injection molding experience preferred.
Proven track record of success in manufacturing leadership, with expertise in lean transformation, data-driven decision making, and continuous improvement.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with a history of building and sustaining high-performing teams.
Demonstrated ability to translate company objectives into actionable operational plans and deliver results on time and within budget.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation).
Proficient in spreadsheet, word processing, project management, and presentation software.
Flexible and adaptable, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and work extended hours as needed.

Establishes challenging, productive and achievable goals for direct reports; measure results by establishing checkpoints to track progress.
Must be able to travel, nationally and internationally, as necessary.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The annual U.S. pay range for this position is listed below. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on your qualifications, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.
