Engineering Director - Role Summary

A senior engineering leader is needed to oversee mechanical and electrical teams, drive innovation, and align technical strategy with business goals. This role blends leadership, technical oversight, and operational management to deliver high-quality engineering solutions at scale.

Core Responsibilities

  • Strategic Direction: Define and execute engineering strategies that support growth, efficiency, and innovation. Stay informed on emerging technologies and industry trends.

  • Team Leadership: Build and lead a multidisciplinary engineering team. Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Align team capacity with project demands.

  • Project Execution: Manage the design and delivery of automation systems. Ensure projects meet deadlines, budgets, and quality standards. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration.

  • Technical Oversight: Guide technology selection, system architecture, and integration practices. Establish and maintain engineering standards and version control protocols.

  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all systems meet regulatory and safety requirements. Develop risk mitigation strategies and maintain documentation standards.

  • Resource Management: Oversee budgets, allocate resources effectively, and ensure alignment with organizational priorities. Support coordination with other departments.

Qualifications

  • Education: Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field.
  • Experience: 10+ years in engineering, including 3+ years in leadership.
  • Skills:
    • Expertise in automation, robotics, PLCs, and system integration.
    • Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
    • Familiarity with safety standards and manufacturing processes.
    • Strong project management and communication abilities.
    • Experience with BOMs, MRP systems, and continuous improvement.

Additional Requirements

  • Flexibility to support production schedules and urgent issues.
  • Occasional travel for supplier visits or training.
  • Ability to work on-site for equipment and process evaluations.
