Employment Type: Full-Time

Reports To: Executive Leadership

Compensation: $100,000–$150,000 + Health Insurance + Bonus (based on experience)

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly strategic, creative, and execution-focused Director of Marketing to lead marketing across our entire portfolio of brands. This person will be responsible for shaping our brand presence, driving growth, managing partnerships, overseeing content and social strategy, and building a cohesive marketing engine across all consumer and trade touchpoints.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Brand Strategy & Consumer Connection

  • Own brand voice, positioning, personality, and creative direction across all brands
  • Build annual and quarterly brand plans to support innovation, distribution expansion, and marketing goals
  • Lead go-to-market strategy for new products, flavors, seasonal drops, and brand launches
  • Build “fan culture” around each brand through storytelling, experiences, and community-first activation
  • Drive viral concepts, TikTok strategies, UGC programs, and cultural moments
  • Align marketing with sales, innovation, and leadership to ensure cohesive growth



2. Digital & Social Media Leadership

  • Oversee social strategy across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and emerging platforms
  • Develop content calendars, campaign roadmaps, engagement strategies, and KPIs
  • Manage creative output from in-house content creators, agencies, and freelancers
  • Evaluate performance, optimize content, and drive measurable growth and visibility
  • Ensure Iconic Candy maintains an always-on social presence with culturally relevant content


3. Partnerships, Collaborations & Influencer Strategy

  • Identify and negotiate high-impact brand partnerships, licensing opportunities, and collaborations
  • Build influencer programs (paid + seeding) that amplify reach and authenticity
  • Lead seasonal brand integrations, cultural moments, and experiential campaigns
  • Own execution of partnership campaigns end-to-end


4. PR, Communications & Earned Media

  • Lead PR strategy and media outreach; secure consistent press coverage across lifestyle, food, and business outlets
  • Manage product seeding, editor relationships, sampling programs, and storytelling initiatives
  • Handle press releases, media kits, product launches, and brand announcements


5. Retail Marketing, Trade Support & Activations

  • Collaborate with Sales team to develop in-store promotions, POS materials, displays, and shopper marketing
  • Support national retail rollouts (Target, CVS, Walmart, 7-Eleven, Dollar Tree, etc.)
  • Lead creative and execution for trade shows, expos, and consumer-facing pop-ups
  • Concept and oversee experiential activations that elevate the portfolio


6. Leadership, Team Building & Vision

  • Build and lead a small, high-performing marketing team (content creator, graphic designers, freelancers)
  • Provide clear direction, structure, and creative leadership
  • Act as a trend spotter across consumer behavior, pop culture, candy, design, and social media
  • Present marketing results, insights, and strategy updates to executive leadership



QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (MBA a plus)
  • 7–10+ years of marketing experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role
  • Proven experience in CPG marketing — food, beverage, or confectionery strongly preferred
  • Deep understanding of digital/social strategy, influencer ecosystems, emerging platforms, and cultural trends
  • Demonstrated success managing teams, agencies, freelancers, and multiple brand workstreams
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to execute quickly and independently
  • Creative thinker with a data-driven mindset
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Must live within commuting distance to Holmdel, NJ and be able to work on-site
