The Opportunity

Strategic and Hands-On Financial Leadership

Reporting directly to the President/CEO and serving as a vital member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Director of Finance & Accounting will own the accuracy, timeliness, interpretation, and presentation of Stoneside's financial information. You'll play a key role in guiding strategic decisions through forecasting, budgeting, and advising leadership, while also leading and rolling up your sleeves alongside a small, capable team of accounting professionals.

Hands-On Leadership in a Growth Environment

This is a highly impactful, hands-on role where you will oversee all aspects of accounting operations, cash management, forecasting, payroll, compliance, and investor reporting. You will be equally comfortable producing monthly statements yourself as you are presenting high-level financial insights to the leadership team and board.

Driving Performance and Continuous Improvement

You'll be responsible for building and refining the systems, processes, and KPIs that enable Stoneside to achieve its five-year plan of $100M revenue, 10% net, and 15% EBITDA, while ensuring the finance/accounting function delivers a five-star experience to both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create accurate, timely financial statements and forecasts
  • Develop and maintain rolling cash flow forecasts, budgets, and financial plans
  • Manage banking relationships and ensure optimal credit and payment policies
  • Oversee investor communications and maintain accurate cap table and corporate records
  • Ensure full compliance with all regulatory requirements in 13+ U.S. markets
  • Coach, develop, and support a small team of accounting professionals
  • Provide clear, actionable financial insights to the President & CEO and the senior leadership team
  • Operate within the finance and accounting budget while seeking efficiencies and improvements
  • Oversee corporate risk management functions, including business insurance, workers’ compensation, etc

Candidate Profile

Must Haves:

  • Reside in the Colorado Front Range and able to be in the Denver office once per month for leadership team meetings
  • 7+ years of progressively responsible finance and accounting experience, including leading a small team
  • Proven ability to operate both hands-on while also serving as a trusted strategic partner
  • Strong track record of delivering accurate, timely financial reporting, budgets, and forecasts
  • Experience overseeing AP, AR, payroll, and compliance across multiple states
  • Skilled in cash flow management and financial performance analysis
  • Highly organized, process-driven, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build trust at all levels
  • Alignment with Stoneside's core values: Honesty, Positivity, Generosity, Continuous Improvement, and Passion
  • CPA, CMA, or Master’s in Accounting / MBA required

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with investor relations and corporate recordkeeping
  • Background in a growth-stage company of similar size and complexity
