Director of Automation

A fast-growing automation firm is looking for a seasoned Director of Automation to lead the development and execution of advanced systems across manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics. This is a strategic leadership role for someone who understands how to turn engineering vision into operational reality.

Automation Strategy & Execution

• Define and drive the company's automation roadmap, including robotics, conveyor systems, vision technology, and software integration

• Oversee engineering teams across mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines

• Promote lean principles and continuous improvement across all automation initiatives

Project Leadership

• Lead complex automation projects from concept through implementation

• Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to deliver customized solutions

• Ensure projects meet performance, budget, and timeline goals

Team Development & Innovation

• Build and mentor a high-performing technical team

• Encourage innovation and accountability across engineering functions

• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends
  
  

• Proven leadership experience in automation, preferably in material handling, robotics, or industrial systems

• Strong technical foundation in mechanical/electrical engineering or computer science

• Deep knowledge of PLCs, robotics, vision systems, and industrial software platforms

• Excellent communication and team-building skills
