The YMCA of Orange County has an immediate need for a Fitness Instructor. At the Huntington Beach YMCA we're passionate about helping our members live healthier, stronger lives. Our dynamic group fitness program is a cornerstone of that mission. We're currently seeking a high-energy, motivating cycle instructor to lead safe and fun indoor cycle classes for all fitness levels.
Schedule
Looking for an instructor with morning availability on Wednesdays at 5:45am.
Responsibilities
Lead engaging and effective indoor cycling classes that motivate participants of all fitness levels
Provide proper instruction on bike setup, posture, and technique
Create energizing playlists and class plans to match class intensity and rhythm
Ensure a safe environment by monitoring participants and offering modifications as needed
Arrive early to prepare the studio and greet participants
Stay up to date with fitness trends and cycle training techniques
Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages member retention
Other duties as assigned
Hiring Criteria
The following are the minimum qualifications that an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.
Qualifications
Current Cycle Instructor certification (e.g., Schwinn, Spinning, AFAA, ACE or similar)
Prior experience teaching indoor cycling classes
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Passion for health, fitness, and helping others succeed
Ability to teach early mornings, evenings, or weekends is a plus
