Overview

Under the direct supervision of the Regional Operations Manager, directs and administers a Community Center program which addresses community needs through a variety of services.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises employees and volunteers; develops job descriptions, recruits personnel; schedules, assigns, supervises, and reviews work; evaluates performance; provides on-the-job training and assists employees in the performance of their duties.
  • Develops training procedures or programs for use by council and supervisory personnel within the community center.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors programs and operational policies and procedures within the community center, defines priorities, and ensures compliance with guidelines established by funding sources, central administration, and council.
  • Oversees building management and security and coordinates maintenance services. Prepares and administers budget; monitors program budgets and reports; processes payroll.
  • Conducts fundraising efforts, writes grant proposals, and develops publicity for use in fundraising campaigns.
  • Organizes and assists the council in developing an annual work plan and assists in the recruitment of new council member.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Minimum Entrance Qualifications

  • Three (3) to four (4) years of full-time experience in the human services/or education field.
  • At least one (1) year of administration experience, which includes the supervision of staff and budget responsibilities.
  • It is preferred that the candidate have experience working with or organizing community groups and experience working with people from a broad range of social and economic backgrounds.
  • It is also preferred that a candidate hold a degree from an accredited four year college.
  • However, a candidate with or without a degree will be acceptable if that candidate can demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.
