Base pay range
$15.00/hr - $18.00/hr
Summary
The Associate Teacher is responsible in assisting the lead teacher in the general supervision and management of a classroom of young children. The associate teacher would also assist in planning and executing the educational program in accordance with the goals of New Morning School.
Hours would be 9:30-5:30pm Monday-Friday year-round.
Duties
Support the Director and lead teacher’s long-range planning with regard to curriculum, the program philosophy, and goals.
Comply with daily, weekly and monthly curriculum plans based on developmentally appropriate practices.
Supervise and interact with the children in all areas of the program.
Establish an environment that supports children’s independence and development.
Maintain a program that supports a positive experience for each child.
Maintain a professional demeanor at all times both on and off site regarding anything that involves New Morning School.
Maintain classroom and materials, keeping the classroom environment clean and organized.
Follow all center policies and adhere to NH Childcare Licensing Rules.
Work as a member of the NMS team.
Complete a minimum of 24 hours in-service training per year in Core Knowledge Areas
Help with other duties as needed, field trips, open houses, etc.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of 9 Early Childhood Education college credits from a regionally accredited college or university, including at least 3 credits in child and development.
Pediatric First Aid and infant/ CPR Certification
Minimum of one year experience working with children in an early childhood environment
Must be 18 years or older
Must be able to successfully pass a NH Criminal Background check
Must have a current Child Care Health Form completed by a health practitioner indicating the ability to work with children upon hire once every three years. Current health form needs to be less than one year old from hire date.
