Position - Accounts Receivable
Are you highly organized, detail-oriented, and ready to grow in the fast-paced world of logistics operations and finance? RWI Logistics is seeking an Accounts Receivable individual to help manage customer invoicing, payment application, and account follow-up. You’ll play an essential role in supporting clean financial operations, optimize the collections process, minimize outstanding receivables, and ensuring that our customers and carriers have a seamless billing experience.
This position is ideal for someone with strong follow-through, customer-focused mindset, solid understanding of accounting principles, and the desire to build a long-term career in accounting operations.
What You’ll Do
Invoice Customers Accurately & Efficiently
Review load documents and prepare customer invoices based on rate confirmations and customer billing preferences
Submit invoices via email and online portals, ensuring compliance with customer requirements
Ensure that all required backup (PODs, BOLs, accessorial charges) is complete and attached
Support Payment Posting & Account Reconciliation
Help apply customer payments and follow up on short-pays or overages
Assist in reconciling A/R accounts and maintaining clean customer records
Track aging invoices and identify those needing follow-up
Follow Up on Outstanding Invoices
Send regular reminders and follow up with customers on unpaid invoices
Respond to vendor inquiries regarding the status of payments or documentation requests to help secure payment
Escalate unresolved issues to Sales or Accounting leadership when needed
Collaborate with Internal Teams
Collaborate with Sales, Carrier, and Operations teams to address customer issues, clarify load details or resolve billing discrepancies
Help monitor team inboxes for invoice questions or document submissions
Provide backup support during high-volume periods or process improvements
What You’ll Bring
1–2 years of billing, administrative, accounting, or office experience Comfortable using Excel, email, and basic accounting tools Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with both internal teams and external customers Prior experience in logistics, transportation, or freight billing (a plus but not required) Willingness to learn and grow in a team-oriented environment
Qualifications to perform the job successfully include:
Education: High school diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency
Experience: two (2) years of accounting preferred
Skills & Competencies:
Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven office environment.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in invoice preparation and data entry.
Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
Customer-service mindset with the ability to handle difficult conversations professionally.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Team-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Strong organizational skills, prioritization, and works with a high sense of urgency
Commitment to executional excellence and outstanding customer service
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office:
Outlook – email, calendar and task functions
Excel – creating and manipulating worksheets, including creating and understanding of formulas
Word – creating and manipulating documents
Working knowledge of MercuryGate and GP preferred
