Position: Collections Manager
Location: Mission, KS (In-Office Role)
Pay Range: $75,000–$85,000
Hours: Full-Time
What You’ll Do:
Manage the full accounts receivable cycle, including billing, collections, credit management, and cash application.
Supervise and mentor AR staff, providing training, workload balance, and professional development.
Establish, monitor, and report on KPIs for receivables such as invoicing accuracy, aging reports, and collection effectiveness.
Partner with Sales and Customer Service to resolve billing discrepancies and customer disputes.
Review and approve credit applications, determining customer credit limits through financial analysis and risk assessment.
Ensure timely collection of outstanding accounts to optimize cash flow and minimize bad debt.
Reconcile AR subledger to the general ledger and prepare accurate month-end and year-end reports.
Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and GAAP.
Drive process improvements and leverage automation to increase AR efficiency and accuracy.
Support external audits by providing documentation and account analysis as needed.
What You’ll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (preferred but not required).
5+ years of progressive experience in accounts receivable, credit, or collections, including at least 2 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
Strong knowledge of AR best practices, internal controls, and financial reporting.
Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems (NetSuite and Salesforce preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Strong leadership skills with experience building and managing high-performing teams.
Effective communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
