Manufacturing Executive Search Partners(MESP) has been exclusively retained by an electro mechanical equipment manufacturing firm in Southern New Hampshire to lead the search for a Vice President of Sales & Marketing.


The VP of Sales & Marketing serves as the visionary, strategic leader overseeing the Sales and Marketing teams. Responsible for business growth by planning and directing sales and marketing strategies that are aligned with the strategic vision and business objectives of the company. Partners closely with senior management to maximize profitable revenue and grow market share. As a member of the executive staff, the VP engages at a high level on the broad business issues of the Company. Success is measured by the performance of the team relative to objectives and the development and retention of a highly motivated and productive Sales and Marketing organization.


Responsibilities:

  • Provides growth-minded leadership and management to multiple functions, which may include domestic and international sales, product marketing, marketing communications, and sales operations.
  • Develops and executes the annual sales plan in support of business strategy and objectives.
  • Manages direct and indirect sales channels. Establishes sales targets and support structures that will promote sales growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Creates Sales strategies to grow both the core business based on standard products and the Industrial Integration business based on customized partnership agreements
  • Drives business model discussions, matching various monetization methods with unique revenue opportunities
  • Helps to manage a growing international e-commerce business strategy that complements traditional selling methods
  • Evaluates strengths and weaknesses of the team, current strategies, process and methods and acts as a change agent to drive improvement in every corner of the Sales and Marketing functions
  • Meets with key customers, representatives, and resellers, and engages in relationship building and negotiating contracts or other agreements.
  • Directs implementation and execution of sales policies and practices. Ensures that the processes, procedures, controls and infrastructure are in place to support the Company’s Anti-Bribery, Anti-Corruption policies.
  • Develops and implements an overall marketing strategy. Directs the creation and execution of marketing programs that define and articulate our value proposition, and which drive awareness, demand and preference for the Company’s products and services. Performs market research and analysis including market segments, customer requirements, buying trends and competitor analysis. Works with various internal and external teams to develop technical sales/marketing presentations, brochures/data sheets, article, white papers, and training materials.
  • Works with the Products Group to create effective product training for customers and appropriate training for the sales team and representatives.
  • Collaborates with the CTO and Director of Products on defining the Company’s product strategy and road maps, and lifecycle management. Provides recommendations for improving or adding new product designs and assists with product development and testing. Drives successful new product launches.
  • Achieves goals tied to sales growth, profit performance, and customer satisfaction
  • Facilitates and coordinates the flow of information necessary to plan and evaluate performance at the operational and individual level. Oversees and verifies periodic reporting of sales and marketing activities.
  • Recruits, selects, mentors and motivates key team members.
  • Supports, communicates, reinforces and defends the mission, values and culture of the organization


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; MBA or Master’s degree in Marketing preferred
  • 7- 10 years of senior level experience managing Sales and Marketing
  • This position requires frequent travel – up to 25%. Most travel is outside the local area and overnight. A significant portion of the travel is international.
