LaSalle Network is hiring on behalf of a fast-growing construction and engineering firm, seeking a Vice President of Human Resources. This individual will lead the strategic people initiatives and oversee the full spectrum of HR functions—including talent, compliance, performance, learning, benefits, and engagement.
The ideal leader brings expertise in HR within the construction or engineering industry, particularly with exposure to federal and healthcare projects, and has a strong grasp of government contracting requirements. This role balances operational excellence with fostering an innovative, employee-centered environment.
Vice President Of Human Resources Responsibilities
Design and implement HR strategies that support company goals and workforce growth.
Partner with executives to strengthen company culture, engagement, and employee experience.
Direct workforce planning to ensure the right people are hired, retained, and developed.
Advance diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across the organization.
Lead recruitment efforts for project, field, and corporate positions; maintain strong pipelines of construction talent.
Establish career development, leadership training, and mentorship opportunities.
Ensure full compliance with federal labor and contracting laws such as Davis-Bacon Act, OFCCP & Affirmative Action requirements, Service Contract Act (SCA), EEO & Prevailing Wage laws
Manage compliance audits, reporting, security clearances, and payroll certifications.
Drive retention programs and employee engagement initiatives.
Oversee employee relations, investigations, and policy enforcement with fairness and consistency.
Lead performance management practices that encourage career progression.
Administer competitive pay structures and collaborate with Finance on payroll oversight.
Manage benefits and wellness programs to support employees’ well-being.
Leverage HR technology (HRIS, ATS) and workforce analytics to optimize processes.
Track and report on key HR metrics to guide leadership decisions.
Senior Director Of Human Resources Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration required; Master’s degree in HR, Business, or Organizational Development strongly preferred.
12+ years of HR experience, with at least 5 in a leadership role.
Industry knowledge of construction, engineering, or government contracting required.
Knowledge of Davis-Bacon, OFCCP, SCA, EEO, and prevailing wage requirements.
Proven experience across recruiting, compliance, benefits, and employee relations.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Experience in mergers & acquisitions, workforce integration, and cultural alignment.
Knowledge of both unionized and non-union environments.
Expertise in organizational development, training, and DEI initiatives.
Advanced proficiency with HR tech systems (HRIS, ATS, payroll, analytics).
