We’re looking for a Vice-President, Travel & Tourism Strategy to join our growing team and help shape the future of iconic travel brands, destinations, hotels and resorts around the world.


Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role based in New York, NY with some work-from-home flexibility. As the VP Travel & Tourism Strategy, you will develop and manage key client relationships and deliver exceptional placemaking, branding and marketing outcomes. You will work at the intersection of visioning, storytelling, and strategic foresight — collaborating across departments and disciplines to shape how people connect with and experience the world’s most compelling places. Specific duties and responsibilities include: 


Strategic Leadership

  • Develop strong client relationships, from day-to-day clients to senior leadership, as a key strategic and business partner.
  • Guide destination development and placemaking initiatives for cities, destinations, mixed-use developments, hotels and resorts.
  • Lead the development of holistic branding and marketing strategies for a diverse client base: cities, destinations, real estate developers, tourism boards, and communities.
  • Contribute to the thought leadership of Resonance through writing, speaking engagements, and participation in industry forums. 


Client & Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, contributing to the growth of the company. 
  • Develop proposals, pitch to potential clients, and maintain a network of industry contacts.
  • Build and nurture long-term client relationships.
  • Develop and manage annual revenue forecasts and resource plans in partnership with Finance & Administration.


Team Management

  • Oversee a team of consultants; nurture talent, foster growth, and build an agile, creative culture.
  • Ensure delivery excellence and professional growth.


Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in travel leadership, destination marketing or consultancy roles — ideally with a focus on destinations, real estate, hospitality, or tourism.
  • Strong network in the travel and tourism sector (destinations, facilities, hospitality, travel tech, airlines, etc.)
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Experience in client management and business development, with a strong network of industry contacts.
  • Experience with financial planning, budgeting, and P&L responsibility.


Compensation & Benefits

The expected base salary range for this role is $175,000 to $210,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience. Bonus potential and business development incentives are also available. Resonance offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package, including:
