  • At Unified Women’s Healthcare, we believe every woman deserves access to life-saving breast cancer screenings and care. This October, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re shining a light on the importance of early detection and the impact it makes: ✅ Expanding access to preventative screenings ✅ Supporting in-office diagnostic capabilities ✅ Empowering women with education and awareness In 2024 alone, Unified Breast Imaging detected over 400 cancers across our affiliated care centers. Every number represents a life impacted and a reminder of why this work matters. Join us this month in spreading awareness, encouraging screenings, and standing with the millions of survivors and patients whose strength inspires us all.

  • September is Sexual Health Awareness Month - an important reminder that intimacy and sexual well-being are central to overall health. For many women, symptoms like low libido, vaginal dryness, or painful sex are brushed aside as “normal.” But sexual health is an essential part of overall well-being—it deserves the same attention as any other area of health. Women should never feel they have to accept discomfort or loss of intimacy as their “new normal." Unified’s affiliated providers specialize in perimenopause, menopause and sexual health. Through education, resources, and compassionate care, they help women find real answers and relief. Explore our collection of articles on sexual health and wellness, including: 🔹Understanding the difference between desire and arousal disorders 🔹 Navigating intimacy during menopause 🔹 Reviving connection in a sexless relationship 🔹 The role of hormones in sexual health Link to articles in comment below! Because sexual health is healthcare - and you deserve care that listens, supports, and helps.

  • Women in Medicine Month: a time to honor the women physicians who are shaping the future of healthcare. At Unified, women are not only represented, but they are leading change: 🔹 67% of our affiliated OBGYN physicians are women  🔹 99% of our affiliated advanced practice providers are women These women are more than numbers. They are the faces patients trust, the leaders transforming care, and the mentors showing the next generation what’s possible. As Dr. Ada Stewart, past president of the AAFP, reminds us:  “I always go back to the fact that you can’t be what you don’t see.” Our women physicians embody this truth every day. By leading in women’s health, they are not only improving outcomes for their patients, but also creating a future where women see themselves in every corner of medicine. We are proud to celebrate them this month and every month.

  • 🌟 Capital Women’s Care Summer of Service 🌟 This summer, the team at Capital Women’s Care came together to support children in foster care through a special project with Foster Love. They filled 24 bags with essentials and comfort items for children ages 2–18. For too many children in foster care, moving between homes has meant carrying their belongings in a trash bag. Foster Love is working to change that by providing duffle bags filled with resources and support, ensuring every child feels seen and valued. Capital Women’s Care is proud to have played a part in that mission. 💙 This effort was part of the Summer of Service volunteer initiative, which encourages teams to come together and support local charitable organizations. Thank you to all the Unified community members who are stepping up and making a difference across the U.S.! 🫶 #SummerOfService #FosterLove #UnifiedWomensHealthcare #CapitalWomensCare #CommunityImpact #WeAreUnified

💻✨ We know that Gennev offers accessible, evidence-based telemedicine menopause care, and has since 2016. That’s why we’re honored that OB/GYN, trusted women’s health myth-buster, and NY Times best-selling author Dr. Jen Gunter recommended Gennev in her newsletter The Vajenda. Her words: “They are committed to evidence-based menopause care, accept insurance, offer a reasonable cash price, and don’t upsell products. Plus, you can use the pharmacy of your choice.” 🙌 Evidence-based. Affordable. No gimmicks. No selling. That’s the Gennev way. Follow the 🔗 to read the newsletter: https://lnkd.in/gaH_KYpS?

🚨 1 in 4 severe maternal complications happen more than 4 months after birth. Our new research in Cureus shows why postpartum care must extend well beyond delivery and why 12 months of Medicaid coverage can save lives. From sepsis to heart failure to postpartum depression, ongoing access to care means healthier moms, stronger families, and more equitable outcomes. Maternal health is year-round health. https://lnkd.in/giQzmSTT

Maternal health doesn’t end at delivery — and neither should our care. Our new study, Severe Postpartum Maternal Morbidity: How Medicaid Coverage for 365 Days Can Make a Difference, reveals that serious and life-threatening complications often occur well beyond the traditional six-week postpartum period. In fact, 25% of severe maternal morbidity cases happen after 131 days postpartum, with conditions like sepsis, heart failure, and acute renal failure leading the list. Extending Medicaid postpartum coverage to a full year is more than a policy, it’s a lifeline. This ongoing coverage creates opportunities for proactive case management, mental health support, chronic condition monitoring, and ultimately, healthier outcomes for mothers and families. Let’s continue to support and invest in year-long postpartum care, close coverage gaps, and give every mother the chance to heal, thrive, and care for her family.
