 Troon is pleased to announce it has been selected to manage Hunting Hills Country Club, a private club in Roanoke, Virginia. Troon will oversee club operations, agronomy, food & beverage, and membership sales and marketing. Located in the picturesque foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Hunting Hills is a member-owned club with an array of amenities including an 18-hole championship golf course, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, pickleball courts, a swimming pool and splash pad, a fitness center, and a kids’ club. The eagerly anticipated new clubhouse at Al Zorah Golf & Yacht Club has won instant global recognition after being named as one of the major winners in Golf Inc. magazine’s prestigious ‘Clubhouse of the Year’ annual awards. The stunning deluxe building, which welcomed visitors for the first time this spring, was placed first in the ‘Best New Public Clubhouse’ category by the awards judging panel, and Phil Henderson, general manager of Al Zorah Golf & Yacht Club, and Antonino Cardillo from the Al Zorah Development Team were was on hand to receive the top honour at this month’s Golf Inc. Earlier this month, the PGA announced that The Sentry, the first stop on the PGA tour, will not be played at The Plantation Course at Kapalua for the first time since 1999. The decision was made after the course’s conditions deteriorated due to a lack of irrigation water. The tournament brings an estimated $48 million in economic activity to Maui each year and hundreds of thousands of dollars in charitable donations to Maui nonprofit organizations. Kapalua Golf owner, Mr. Tadashi Yanai, expressing his commitment to support the Maui community, pledged a total donation of $750,000 to various Maui nonprofits, including Scouting America –Aloha Council, Hale Makua Health Services, J. Giants Ridge, Minnesota’s premier golf and all-season outdoor recreation destination set in the Mesabi Iron Range, recently celebrated the opening of its new Giants Ridge Pool & Sauna Haus. The 9,700 square-foot facility features an indoor swimming pool, a hot tub, two outdoor saunas, a spacious great room/lobby, as well as locker and mechanical rooms.
