  • A bond rooted in a love of the natural world defined the friendship between philanthropist Bunny Mellon and legendary designer Jean Schlumberger. With the idyllic gardens and landscapes and inspired interiors of her home in Virginia as his source of creativity, many of his extraordinary jewels were imagined with her in mind. An avid collector of Schlumberger’s designs, amassing a collection of over 100 pieces, Bunny Mellon's effortless elegance and refined taste made her the perfect muse for the Bird on a Rock. Pictured here are personal notes as well as many of the extraordinary creations that continue to shape the House’s legacy. Collection of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts / Estate of Bunny Mellon. • Bird on a Rock was designed in 1965 by legendary designer Jean Schlumberger for his lifelong friend, philanthropist, Bunny Mellon. It was at her estate in Virginia, amongst her bucolic gardens and artful interiors, that Schlumberger found inspiration to create many of his masterpieces, among them, the Bird on a Rock brooch featuring a yellow and white diamond bird perched on a cabochon lapis lazuli, pictured here. More than 60 years later, the story continues with a new collection inspired by the original, designed by Chief Artistic Officer Nathalie Verdeille and featured on House ambassador Zhang Ziyi. • It was at Oak Spring, the home of philanthropist and style icon Bunny Mellon, that imagination flourished for legendary designer Jean Schlumberger. Her renowned gardens, expansive art collection and curated library inspired many of his designs, including one of the House’s most enduring symbols: the Bird on a Rock. Over six decades later, that legacy continues with new creations from Chief Artistic Officer Nathalie Verdeille—presented in the place that started it all.

  • Today, we celebrate Founder’s Day and 188 years of brilliance. Since 1837, Charles Lewis Tiffany’s vision has set the standard for extraordinary craftsmanship, bold innovation and timeless design. His enduring legacy continues to inspire the world of jewelry design and his pioneering spirit lives on in every Tiffany & Co. creation.

  • A celebration of love’s soaring optimism, the Bird on a Rock ring captures the grace of flight in platinum and 18k yellow gold. Round brilliant diamonds are meticulously set in custom arrangements across sculptural feathers while vivid sapphire eyes bring each bird to life. Chevron engravings at the tip of the band echo the texture of delicate plumage, evoking the beauty of nature and artistry of Jean Schlumberger’s original masterpieces. #TiffanyAndCo #TiffanyBirdOnARock Discover more: https://lnkd.in/eFg6R7T2
