What’s a Second Mile Organization? If the first mile is smiling, being polite, and meeting expectations, the second mile is going beyond—surprising people with extraordinary care that touches them as human beings. Anyone can deliver “good service.” But Second Mile Organizations are remembered because they meet unspoken needs and exceed expectations. Like the shop employee who carried a small box for my stepdad—not because she had to, but because she wanted to serve. Zero Mile = customers feel like a burden. First Mile = customers are satisfied. Second Mile = customers feel valued, honored, and tell everyone about you. Where does your organization fall?

Yesterday marked Women’s Equality Day, commemorating the 1920 adoption of the 19th Amendment and the ongoing fight for gender equality. To honor the day, She@TRG hosted a dynamic panel featuring leading businesswomen from across the DFW metroplex. Here are some of our favorite takeaways about navigating career and family as women: ✨ Always advocate for yourself – and for others who may not have a voice. 📚 Take responsibility for staying informed. ⚖️ You can’t do it all, and that’s okay. The key is knowing what sacrifices you’re willing to make. 🔥 The best revenge is success. 👯♀️ Surround yourself with women who inspire you. 💪 Confidence is a muscle – work on the flex in every room you enter. A huge thank-you to our panelists – Erica Kosemund, Jessie Swendig, Susanna Russell, Ed. D., Kristin Bartek, and Stephanie LeBlanc - and to our very own Mikee Tinsay for moderating. We left feeling empowered, supported, and deeply inspired.

  • Two things among many that we prize here at TotalCare… Dignity and Integrity. We strive every day to make sure that our patients and employees feel seen, heard, and cared for as the valuable humans that they are. What are you doing today to show someone in your workplace (or even when you step outside of your offices) that you care about them?

The healthcare metric we don't track enough… In a world obsessed with healthcare metrics and KPIs… … there's one measure that rarely makes it onto any dashboard. Dignity. I've been thinking about this a lot lately as we review our patient experience procedures at TotalCare. We measure… Wait times Treatment outcomes Readmission rates All crucial data points. But how do you quantify whether someone felt their humanity was respected during a vulnerable moment? It happens in small ways… These moments don't show up in our efficiency metrics… … but they fundamentally change how healthcare is experienced. The technical aspects of medicine continue to advance at incredible speeds. But sometimes the most important innovations aren't technological… They're in how we preserve someone's sense of self when they're at their most vulnerable. This is why everything we do is about community. When we all finish work each day and go home… We are going home to the same community as the people we served.

  • 💛 Happy Thanksgiving week from all of us at TotalCare! 💛 This week is about more than just turkey and pumpkin pie (although we’re definitely fans of those too 🦃🥧). It’s about coming together, showing gratitude, and taking care of the people in our lives—something we at TotalCare hold close to our hearts every single day. We're thankful for the healthcare professionals who go above and beyond, the community leaders who inspire us, and the residents who trust us to be part of their lives. Together, we’re building healthier, more connected communities, one act of care at a time. While you're spending time this week with family, friends, or even some much-needed "me time,” remember that taking care of each other starts with taking care of yourself. And that’s exactly why we’re here—to support you and the people you care about. What are you most thankful for this year? Share it with us in the comments! 👇 Let's keep the gratitude going. \#ThanksgivingTogether #HealthierCommunities #CommunityCare

  • Did you know? According to the WHO, depression affects over 264 million people and is a leading cause of disability worldwide. The economic impact is profound, with over $1 trillion lost globally in productivity. Today on #WorldMentalHealthDay, we’re reminded of our shared responsibility to prioritize mental well-being. Many people around the world today find themselves struggling with anxiety and depression but don't know who to turn to or how to seek help. It often isn't until a friend reaches out and shares their own journey that we realize we're not alone. Their support and guidance can lead those struggling to seek professional help, and, eventually, get to a much better mental place. The importance of speaking up and reaching out cannot be overstated. Let's focus on the importance of mental health care for all, treating it with the same urgency as physical health. Together, we can create a supportive world for everyone. Share your story or message of support. What barriers have you faced in accessing mental health care and how did you overcome them? Join us in making mental health a priority. Together, we can ensure no one is left behind. If you're in the DFW area, we invite you to stop by our TotalCare behavioral health clinic in Fort Worth to learn more about the resources available to you.#WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealthMatters #BreakTheStigma
