We are excited to announce that Deca Companies has awarded Plant the contract for the construction of 2270 McKinnon, a new, multi-use self-storage and production, distribution, and repair (PDR) facility in San Francisco’s Bayview-Hunters Point neighborhood. Designed by Jackson Liles Architecture, with whom we recently completed the Meals on Wheels SF facility, the team also includes KPFF Consulting Engineers, Sherwood Design Engineers, ACIES ENGINEERING, Site Studio, Vizion Utility Partners, Janus International, and Plant’s in-house Concrete Division. The scope of work for the approximately 170,000 square-foot, five-story, Class A structure includes demolition of the existing structure, self-storage units, PDR space, community use space, and street improvements. The building was originally designed as structural CMU, and through a robust preconstruction effort, the CMU skeleton was re-engineered into a cast-in-place concrete structure. The exterior concrete walls feature a formliner pattern which will be unique for this product type and neighborhood. Construction begins in November and is slated for completion in March of 2027. Congratulations to Vice Presidents Don Libbey, Mike Paves, and Greg Bonderud, Senior Project Manager David Smith, and Senior Superintendent Gerardo Vasquez! #construction #engineering #architecture

A little over four years ago, Plant Construction Company, LP's self-perform Concrete Division started with one employee: Vice President and Construction Manager Mike Paves. Today, they are a diverse group of nearly 50 veteran builders that deliver projects from $1 - $250 million in the Bay Area and beyond. Hear from Mike, Dan Rinaldi, Gerardo Vasquez, Rodrigo Vasquez, and Ana Marcelino as they talk about what sets their group apart: prioritizing safety, proactive planning, transparency, never cutting corners on quality, and a strong focus on client satisfaction. #concrete #construction #teamwork

Concrete continues to be the name of the game over at the Japantown Peace Plaza! Dolan Concrete Construction finished up a ramp that was formed by Plant Construction Company, LP's self-perform Concrete Division, then placed and finished radial stairs. With additional contributions from ASSOCIATED REBAR, INC., Central Concrete Supply Co, Interstate Concrete Pumping, these pours enable the team to complete waterproofing and come one step closer to turnover. #construction #renovation #concrete #japantown

Last week, Plant Construction Company, LP and our stakeholder partners broke ground on Phase II of the historic Lorenzo Theater restoration. Building on the successful completion of Phase I--which focused on fire restoration and seismic upgrades--this next phase will address interior reconstruction, including the painstaking refurbishment of famed muralist Anthony Heisbergen's fluorescent and black light painted mural, as well as the preservation of the landmark's exterior, including its marquee, tower, and ticket booth. A special thanks to speakers Diane Rinella from the Lorenzo Theater Foundation, Sandra Rivera and Jaimie Orfanos from the Alameda County Community Development Agency, Architectural Resources Group's Naomi O. Miroglio, FAIA, Plant's own Shannel Cheung, as well as the rest of Vice President Carsten Voecker, AIA, DBIA's team! #construction #renovation #historic #murals #theater #groundbreaking #sanlorenzo

After reinforcing University of California, College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings)'s 100 McAllister building with structural steel, Plant Construction Company, LP is now dismantling the existing core--from level 28 down to the basement--to make room for new concrete core walls. The new opening will give our crews access to prepare the foundation for further seismic strengthening. A special thanks to the hard-working teams from Stomper Co Inc, Bigge Crane and Rigging Co., Holmes US, and Perkins&Will as we continue to build San Francisco's Academic Village! #construction #renovation #seismic
