A day of action celebrating the power of clean energy on September 21, 2025 ☀️ Join the movement at sunday.earth

About us

Sun Day is a day of action on September 21, 2025, celebrating solar and wind power, and the movement to leave fossil fuels behind. Solar energy is now the cheapest source of power on the planet – and gives us a chance to actually do something about the climate crisis. But fossil fuel billionaires are doing everything they can to shut it down. We will build, rally, sing, and come together in the communities that we need to get laws changed and work done.

  • Last weekend, we proved that a movement for clean energy is possible and already here. Sun Day was an opportunity for people to come together to champion clean energy solutions and demand progress. 🗺️ 500 events were hosted including… 💃 A dance performance surrounded by solar panels in Middlebury, Vermont 🚌 The launch of electric school buses (with Mothers Out Front) in Fairfax, Virginia 🏖️ A beach day in Muskegon, Michigan  🍽️ Food, art and talks on a solar powered farm (Burkett Farm) in Raleigh, North Carolina 📰 Sun Day hit the papers in The New York Times and many local news outlets, spreading the word about clean energy even further. It doesn’t stop there. The big day of clean energy actions may be over but our movement has just begun. Stay tuned on how to support Sun Day into the future ☀️

  • Yesterday thousands of people organized the BIGGEST day of action to celebrate clean energy in generations. 🙌 THANK YOU for making Sun Day 2025 a huge success! In hundreds of parks, churches, homes, and city streets across America, thousands of regular people came together to make energy more affordable, cleaner, and safer for the next generation. Sun Day showed us that we CAN push back on those trying to get in the way of clean energy because the biggest barrier isn’t technology - it’s politics.
