#FundingFriday | Over the last few weeks, we've seen $276M raised by Massachusetts-based life sciences companies, led by ARTBIO's $132M Series B and Avalyn Pharma's $100M Series D. ARTBIO, with a presence in the U.S., Switzerland, Norway, and the UK, will use the funding to move its alpha radioligand candidate for metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer into trials. A Phase 1/2 of Artbio’s first candidate, AB001, is “very imminent,” CEO Emanuele Ostuni told Endpoints (https://lnkd.in/egxJeHqh), with plans to run the trial in Europe and the US. The Series D funds will help Avalyn accelerate novel inhaled versions of approved drugs for lung conditions. “Completing a significant round of financing despite the challenging market conditions is a testament to our innovative approach to developing potentially life-saving medicines for patients with pulmonary fibrosis,” Avalyn CEO Lyn Baranowski said in a statement (https://lnkd.in/e6S4bABU). #PatientDriven #VentureCapital #biotech
