Over the last few months, I’ve had the privilege of connecting with many new people here on LinkedIn. I thought it would be a good time to reintroduce myself. My name is Doug French. I’m a husband to my amazing wife and a dad to two wonderful kids. They’re my greatest joy and the reason I strive to be intentional about how I lead and how I live. When I’m not with my family, I serve as the CEO and Owner of Stylecraft, recently ranked number 74 on the Builder 100 list. I stepped into daily leadership in 2013 after my father’s health complications, and since then, we’ve grown revenue by more than 600%. What I’m most proud of, though, is our team: how they show up daily and continually strive for improvement inspires me. Five of our eight executive team members began in entry-level roles (e.g., sales assistant → COO). That kind of growth and development is at the heart of our success. In addition, I lead several other ventures: 🏡 Tenant First – a build for rent ownership and management company that grew from one property and a desire into 350 properties across four Texas cities (and growing). Our mission has always been simple: put our Tenants First. 🌳 Ranier & Son Development – specializing in single-family and commercial raw land development. We focus on unlocking long-term value and preparing communities for sustainable growth. 🔨 SouthSix Construction Group – building detached and attached rental projects both for our own portfolio and for third-party partners, always with a commitment to quality and efficiency. 🦘 Kangaroo Home Loans – helping homeowners and buyers access financing solutions tailored to their needs. Across every company, our values are clear: We care. We serve. We improve. I’m grateful for the connections I’ve made here and excited for the conversations ahead.

It’s David vs. Goliath. That’s what competition feels like at its best. Thrilling, motivating, and sharpening your skills every time you step onto the field. I love the fight. The challenge of testing myself against the best in the industry to see where we land. But competition has another side. It can flood a shallow market, drive short-term, greed-based decisions, and destabilize everything around it. Sometimes, we’re not even playing the same game. It’s different rules, different goals, different playing fields. That’s why I focus on the game we’re uniquely positioned to win, not someone else’s. Not on their terms. For me, the long game is what matters.
