About us

With more than 110 sites across Central Texas, St. David’s HealthCare includes seven of the area’s leading hospitals and is one of the largest health systems in Texas. The organization was recognized with a Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award—the nation’s highest presidential honor for performance excellence—in 2014. St. David’s HealthCare is the third-largest private employer in the Austin area, with more than 9,000 employees. St. David’s HealthCare is a unique partnership between a hospital management company and two local non-profits—St. David’s Foundation and Georgetown Health Foundation. The proceeds from the operations of the hospitals fund the foundations, which, in turn, invest those dollars back into the community. Since the inception of St. David’s HealthCare in 1996, more than $379 million have been given back to the community to improve the health and healthcare of people in Central Texas. St. David's HealthCare is part of HCA Healthcare. HCA Healthcare has been continually named a World's Most Ethical Company by Ethisphere since 2010. In 2019, HCA Healthcare spent an estimated $3.7 billion in cost for the delivery of charitable care, uninsured discounts, and other uncompensated expenses.

  • For Wellness Wednesdays, we partner with KVUE to share more about our comprehensive women's services. With a level IV NICU and Maternal Care designation, St. David's Medical Center cares for the most complex, high risk pregnancies and births. This means mothers and babies who need extra care can stay together because the highest-level of specialists are all under one roof. Our neonatal neuro-critical care physicians are among a select few in North America to hold this highly specialized certification, and we're able to treat babies born as early as 22 weeks. • St. David’s Medical Center recently celebrated the completion of a renovation of the third floor of its women's oncology post-surgical unit, which specializes in treating patients following DIEP flap surgery a breast reconstruction that uses a flap of tissue removed from the lower belly and transferred to the chest to rebuild one or both breasts. The upgraded rooms, which are larger and uniform in design, feature enhanced amenities, including the shower and bathroom space, which were expanded to offer greater comfort and accessibility. #TheBestIsHere #CareLikeFamily #WeShowUp

  • The Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute (TCAI) at St. David’s Medical Center is the first in the country to implant a newly FDA-approved leadless device that delivers cardiac resynchronization therapy to patients with heart failure. The device, about the size of a grain of rice is implanted directly into the heart’s left ventricle and uses ultrasound energy to restore normal rhythm and improve heart function. Cardiac resynchronization therapy improves the timing of the heart’s contractions, helping to restore the normal rhythm of the heartbeat. Unlike traditional systems that rely on wired leads, this wireless approach allows more precise placement and expands treatment options for patients who were previously considered untreatable. TCAI continues to lead in innovative heart care with advanced, minimally invasive therapies. Thank you to the team pictured below for their dedication and innovation!
