We’re proud to share that Sam Dean, CEO of the Scott Family Amazeum, has been elected as Chair-Elect of the Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC) Board of Directors ASTC represents nearly 600 science and technology centers and museums across more than three dozen countries, all united by a mission to spark curiosity and inspire engagement with science and technology. As Sam shared: “I believe science centers and museums are some of the most joyful places on earth – they remind us that curiosity is contagious and creativity is abundant. Serving as Chair-Elect of the ASTC Board is a chance to celebrate and support the amazing work of this global community of dreamers, doers, and wonder-makers.” This recognition reflects not only Sam’s leadership but also the collective work of the Amazeum team and our commitment to fostering curiosity, creativity, and lifelong learning. Ribbon Cut ✂️ Walmart Market Refreshed 🛒✨ Today the Scott Family Amazeum and @Walmart unveiled the refreshed Walmart Market exhibit with a ribbon cutting ceremony and community celebration. Since opening in 2015, the Walmart Market has given children and families a hands-on way to explore real-world skills like shopping, budgeting, and nutrition through play. Thanks to Walmart’s renewed $500,000 sponsorship, the Market has been reimagined with: - Bright new branding and graphics - Expanded bakery, deli, and an ice cream stand - Community murals - Bilingual signage for greater accessibility - New Walmart associate vests for role-play realism This partnership reflects a shared commitment to sparking curiosity, fostering community, and inspiring the next generation of learners.
