Last week, our team hopped on SamTrans buses from Hillsdale Mall to Half Moon Bay, Pacifica, and Daly City to thank riders for choosing transit — and to share free bus ride tickets as a token of appreciation. We were also excited to celebrate All Aboard Bay Area Transit Day alongside riders across the region! 🚍✨ A special thank you to our Board Vice-Chair, Marie Chuang, for joining us on the ride and connecting with the community. There’s no better way to close out #TransitMonth than by celebrating the people who make public transit such an essential part of life in San Mateo County. From students on their way to school, to workers heading to their jobs, to seniors traveling to essential appointments — transit connects us all and helps protect the environment we share.

The Bay Area transit family traveled together for Transit Month this past Friday! Transit leaders from across the Bay Area joined forces for a special CEO Ride-Along which took them from San Francisco to Larkspur on Golden Gate Ferry, then to San Rafael on the SMART Train, followed by a ride with Marin Transit. SamTrans General Manager/CEO April Chan was joined by Caltrain Executive Director, Michelle Bouchard —celebrating the power of public transit and connecting with colleagues who keep our region moving. Big thanks to all the agencies that came together to show the Bay Area that transit is not only essential—it’s also the smart, sustainable, and fun way to travel!

We had a great time at Cesar Chavez Ravenswood Middle School in East Palo Alto for Back to School Night! Students and families got a chance to step on board a SamTrans bus, learn how to ride, and ask questions about routes, fares, and safety. Events like Meet The Bus are all about helping riders feel confident and excited about using public transit.
