SAHARA Las Vegas Leaders Join the Fight Against Hunger Last week, VP of Food & Beverage and Three Square Food Bank Culinary Council Member Derek Tadashi Morishita spearheaded a volunteer opportunity for our leaders. Joined by dedicated groups from other organizations, the SAHARA Team helped sanitize and stack a total of 300 food distribution crates. Additionally, some 2,400 bags of produce were packed and boxed to be delivered via Meals on Wheels America. As Southern Nevada's only food bank, supporting Three Square both financially and with volunteer efforts is an absolutely critical component of the SAHARA Cares Program. #SAHARACares #ThreeSquareFoodBank

Celebrating SAHARA Las Vegas' 2025 Meruelo Family Scholarship Winners Follow along with The Meruelo Group Chief Vision and Purpose Officer Alexis Meruelo as we awarded five students — all children of SAHARA Las Vegas Team Members — with scholarships to further their pursuit of higher education. Now in its fourth year, The Meruelo Family Scholarship is building a powerful legacy: the program has now granted $135,000 in funds between us and our sister property, Grand Sierra Resort. Furthermore, multiple students have been awarded the scholarship in consecutive years, demonstrating the Meruelos' steadfast commitment to supporting the goals and dreams of the next generation of students within the Meruelo Gaming Family.

School's Out: A Festive Celebration for Robert E. Lake Teachers SAHARA Las Vegas was once again proud to host the dedicated educators of Robert E Lake Elementary School for an all-afternoon pool party to mark the end of the 2025 school year! This year, our partner schools' teachers enjoyed a true VIP experience with our rooftop Alexandria Pool all to themselves — complete with private cabanas, catered food and beverage service, SAHARA swag bags, and a raffle. It is a privilege to roll out the red carpet for our wonderful teachers and kick off their summer in style!

Celebrating 2025 5th Grade Graduates with SAHARA Cares SAHARA Las Vegas continues our deep commitment to the students at Robert E Lake Elementary School. Our team was in attendance for each class's ceremonies, and once again selected a student from each class as a SAHARA Cares Award Winner. These students have been identified by their incredible teachers as demonstrating "ROAR" Values: Respectful, On-task, Accountable, and Responsible. To maximize their preparedness for middle school and beyond, each of the five award-winning students was presented with their own personal laptop donated by SAHARA Las Vegas. The Meruelo Group Chief Vision and Purpose Officer Alexis Meruelo had this to say: "We are SO proud of our entire team at SAHARA Las Vegas for their efforts in making a difference in our community. They individually go above and beyond to serve our amazing partners. Our partnership with Robert E. Lake Elementary School has grown significantly over the past two years, and that is because of the love and care our team members put back into the school. From painting their auditorium to surprising them with laptops, their hearts know no bounds.”

SAHARA Las Vegas Rolls Out the Red Carpet for Teacher Appreciation Week ✨ On May 6, 2025, the SAHARA Las Vegas Team once again partnered with Kanani Foods Inc to host a chef-catered sushi lunch for the teachers at Robert E Lake Elementary School. Vice President of Food & Beverage Derek Morishita and Property Executive Chef Miguel Loya supervised the service and led their colleagues in delivering signature SAHARA hospitality to the dedicated educators in attendance. Kanani Foods Executive Kevan Nasserzadeh was honored to be a part of the luncheon, harkening it back to his personal relationship with teaching: his mother was a longtime educator. "That gratitude started at home and has never left," said Kevan. Derek echoed that gratitude and appreciation in remarks after the event. "Our teachers do so much for the next generation, and often get so little in return. Anything we can do to show our appreciation for them — SAHARA will always be first in line." #SAHARACares
