Updates

  • Southwire is proud to partner with West Georgia Habitat for Humanity to fund their 43rd home build, which broke ground on Monday, Sept. 22, 2025. Through fundraising efforts, Southwire's Veterans Network employee resource group and Project GIFT successfully secured the donation of the total amount needed for the home build this summer. RaLin is also serving as a partner in the build by donating their services as general contractor. As Southwire celebrates its 75th anniversary, this project creates the perfect opportunity to reflect on the company's legacy — joining forces with the community, giving back to a long-standing charitable partner and supporting a local family with their pursuit of home ownership.

  • After identifying vulnerabilities, a key step to upgrade and harden the grid is to better handle system overloads and extreme weather. A modern grid must meet current and future needs, including upgrades to high-voltage transmission lines, substations, distribution lines, and transformers. 🔧 Recommended Upgrades for a Modern Grid: ✅ Upsizing Cables: Increase capacity and speed by replacing smaller cables with higher-capacity ones. ✅ Cable Rejuvenation: Extend the life of aging cables with silicone-based fluid injections to restore insulation. ✅ Smart Meters & Sensors: Leverage real-time data for smarter energy management and outage response. ✅ AI-Driven Fault Detection: Predict and isolate power failures automatically, minimizing outages and rerouting power when needed. Let’s build a grid that’s reliable, resilient, and ready for the future. 🌱🔌 https://lnkd.in/gqqEbb6q #MadePossible #PoweringTomorrow #GridModernization #ResilientGrid #SmartGrid #FutureReadyInfrastructure #EnergyInnovation #PowerInnovation #ConstructionTechnologies
