We made a TV documentary!
Over the past 12 weeks, I’ve been with the Montgomery Community Media DFI Fellowship, and it’s been an amazing experience. Group projects are never easy, and I normally only work in duos or alone, but actually making something together as a team has been beautiful, and then being able to call them friends afterwards is amazing. I love y'all, (Ashley Neyra, Omolemo Kale, Tiger Maldonado)
Our documentary is called the Emcees of the MC: The Underground Music Scene of Montgomery County. We set out to highlight some amazing artists in MoCo and shed light on their history, identities, third spaces, and protests through the arts.
This is the first time I’ve really made something bigger than myself. Most of my productions are about my experiences or elements of my life, but this is about my community. Stories, struggles, and dreams of people
It comes out on TELEVISION on the 23rd and on Purple Hoodie Productions on the 30th. Please tune in!
