🥊 Last weekend I attended the Rock Steady Boxing, Inc. CoachCon event in Indianapolis with my colleague, Alexandria Wynter Russell, M.S., CCC-SLP. We met incredible coaches from across the country who are changing lives for people with Parkinson’s Disease through boxing!   ➡️ Did you know that up to 90% of individuals with Parkinson’s disease experience changes in communication at some point during their disease progression? AAC can be a powerful way to preserve someone’s most meaningful messages in their own voice before those changes occur. Imagine the impact of still being able to say, “I love you,” in your own voice—no matter how far your disease has progressed. ❤️   It was so inspiring connecting with so many professionals serving the Parkinson’s community. If you’d like to learn more about how Lingraphica's AAC devices can support your clients with Parkinson's, let's connect! 👋

Yesterday, I had the privilege of visiting a local VA to support a veteran living with significant communication challenges following a stroke. I introduced him to a Lingraphica AAC device—and guess what? He did great! He's ready and eager to explore new ways to connect with the world around him. While AAC technology is incredible, it’s really about something deeper: creating supportive conversations with a supportive communication partner. The tools are powerful, but the human connection is what truly makes a difference. With the right support, veterans can: 🇺🇸 Share their stories 🎖️ Talk about their service 📞 Answer the phone 🚑 Call 911 and ask for help 🆕 Connect with new people 🏡 Maintain independence …And so much more. If you're a VA SLP and would like a site visit or to learn more about integrating AAC into your care—drop a comment or send me a message. I'd love to connect!

  • 🌟 We’re proud to sponsor Camp SPEAK! 🌟 Camp SPEAK is a one-of-a-kind overnight camp designed for children who use alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) devices. Each camper is paired with a speech-language pathology graduate student and guided through a weekend full of fun, adapted activities — all while being supported by some of the best supervising SLPs in the state of Georgia. While the kids are making memories, parents have the chance to connect, attend trainings, and learn from leading assistive technology organizations. At Lingraphica, we believe communication is a human right. We’re honored to support a camp that celebrates every child’s voice. 💙
