  • A newly appointed Chief Legal Officer at a national consumer services company saw an opportunity to expand his team’s reach without slowing down major transactions already in motion. A full-time hire wasn’t practical right away, so he partnered with Latitude to add a highly skilled corporate attorney who could provide steady, part-time support and keep deals moving at the pace of the business. A few months later, the CLO faced another decision: preparing for a parental leave on his team. He needed seamless coverage for labor and employment matters—someone who could start part-time, integrate quickly, and step up to full-time during the leave. Latitude connected him with an attorney bringing more than two decades of employment law and litigation experience. She quickly became a trusted contributor, and by the end of the leave, the company converted her from interim support to a full-time hire. Flexible talent enables leaders to move quickly, adapt to change, and strategically plan for what’s ahead. On day two of the event, Megan and Michelle will lead a roundtable discussion titled, “Small But Mighty Legal Teams: Balancing Productivity, Innovation and Risk in a Resource-Constrained Environment.” It’s designed for legal leaders navigating the realities of doing more with less—sharing practical solutions and strategies to maximize impact. We can’t wait to connect, swap ideas, and celebrate the impact of women in law with so many peers. #LegalLeadership #WomenInLaw #Latitude

  • A growing wealth management firm had a time-sensitive legal project that couldn’t wait. They needed an attorney with deep knowledge of the Investment Advisers Act, Investment Company Act, and related regulations—someone who could jump in right away and deliver value. The company had always relied on outside counsel, but this time they wanted to bring the work in-house without committing to a permanent hire. Latitude connected them with a highly credentialed attorney with extensive experience in securities law, regulatory compliance, and financial services. A former Am Law 100 litigator and senior staff counsel at the SEC, she had also spent more than a decade running her own firm advising fintech, investment, and startup clients. What started as a project engagement quickly grew into more. After providing strategic guidance on fund formation, compliance, and contracts, she stepped into a fractional general counsel role—supporting the company on everything from regulatory compliance and client documentation to business development. Stories like this show how flexible legal talent can help companies solve immediate challenges and create long-term value. A fast-growing fintech company needed to quickly scale its legal team with an experienced in-house attorney—someone well-versed in a wide range of tech and financial contracts, including institutional trading, payments, and custodianship. After meeting several strong candidates through Latitude, the GC brought on an attorney with more than 15 years of experience, including Am Law 15 practice and in-house roles managing complex financial transactions. The attorney joined on a full-time contract basis and made an immediate impact—delivering high-quality work and collaborating seamlessly with business and legal stakeholders. A few months in, the GC extended a permanent offer—reflecting how well the attorney’s skills and approach aligned with the team’s long-term goals. The role transitioned smoothly from contract to hire, offering continuity and strategic support as the business evolved.
