About us

The Long Island Coalition for the Homeless (LICH) coordinates organizations that serve the homeless on Long Island. LICH facilitates the region's funding application to the Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) for the provision of housing and services for the homeless. LICH also coordinates the Continuum of Care group on Long Island, a planning and decision-making entity composed of non-profit organizations, government representatives, and community members. LICH advocates on behalf of the homeless via community outreach, media outlets, and legislative advocacy. Additionally, we distribute essential items to the homeless and work with homeless individuals to help them obtain permanent housing.
